Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

For the people saying Jets / Choppers are hard to take down..........No there not. Using a soflam and they come down so quickly. Ive been on servers where jets / choppers get taken down easy due to the amount of players having stingers.

BF3 jets / choppers are nothing compared to BF2, if you feel like your getting owned by them on BF3 please go back to BF2 and watch how true ownage happens.

Sorta agree to disagree with the amount of tanks etc. On the one hand its nice to have quite a few of them on a map since BF3 isnt all about inf combat, but at times it does feel like quite a lot. But I didnt good fun using the javlin with a squad of 4 taking down tanks, loads of points :D.

Overall loving B2K, this has made BF3 for me, the normal BF3 maps felt small and fit for console gamers. I did enjoy them but B2K is just pure win.
 
All Hail B2K - it was worth the wait. I feel so much more at home on the B2K maps, DICE have done an excellent job IMO.

Is it too BF2 fanboyish to wish for the following remakes?

Road to Jalalabad
Mashtur City
SF Warlord
SF Mass Destruction (loved this map in BF2)

But nobody uses a Soflam :rolleyes:, in all the servers i played last night not one person used it. Too busy with their claymores and beacons, even requesting via team to snipers nobody wants to use one

Are they unlocked by default or do you need to rack up a few kills? I dont mind planting one if someone needs it in game (although no one has ever requested yet and not seen anyone use 'em either).
 
If i see you on a server, i'll request one... I might even put one down as a sniper just to help out but then who uses a JAV

I've moved over to being a C4 whore at the moment :D Just ask Matt! Well, I just unlocked CITV, so jump in a tank and I wont be far behind targetting aircrafts for you ;)

I had the same problem, quick go on EA live chat and the kind Adyita amended it.

Back to Karkand came out i wanted to feel if it has the bf2 nostalgia, reinstalled today.

Installed amd cat 11:12 with latest caps, i go into game try wake island and im getting really bad stutter/lag/pauses when im playing on auto detect graphics setting.

So i think ahh okay maybe VRAM so i turn down the resolution from 1920 too 1680.

Still same problem, then i think what the hell i used to be able to play on this fine.... at settings higher than this.

So then i drop everything down to medium, it is slightly better but im still getting mega freezes now and then especially when flying jet/helicopter... its unplayable.

Try Low and everything works much better. i mean come on has back to karkand really made it that more demanding? my specs are as follows.

i7 2600k @ 4.6ghz
ati 5850 in crossfire
4 gig corsair xms3 ram @ 1600
xfx 750w powersupply
asrock extreme4 z68 motherboard
windows 7 64bit.

Now taskbar only thing running is microsoft security essentials.
lucid virtue which ive disabled
catalyst cc

also this has been installed on a recently reformatted windows.

Any ideas

I'm getting this since the new maps came out, a lot of stutter and lag that I didn't have before :(
 
ROFL, some noob players like Bluebusty at TFU server last night called me cheater, because I was using USAS on his ass and sequad, kept on wiping out their point of spwan flag for almost 23 kills. hehe

they called me a cheater at TFU because I own3d/pwn3d their asses

To answer your question, yes its free to join.

However the server does have a platoon you can join (OCUK) here

If you join the platoon you can add OCUK to your name (if you wish) and add that via edit profile in battlelog.

Yes for the time being looping the maps. However i love the stock maps so will be adding those back in before long.

Someone got upset because you were camping their spawn? I can't imagine why that would be...
 
New maps look pretty good but the performance is still so bloody awful. Got two 6870s Crossfired and FPS is all over the place, turn the settings down it works ok then a few maps later FPS is around 30-40 with constant stuttering and you have to turn settings down even further. :(
