Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

Hi I installed the new drivers when I could not get anything on the Hazro had to connect my old monitor to the GPX card it has two Dual-link DVI ports still no joy. I have tried both DVI ports with the Hazro cant see nothing I can only see the BIOS on my old monitor when it is connected When I first powered on the blue LED was flashing then turned solid blue as pc booted the led screen seemed to go a bit brighter but no picture. I then connected my old NEC Multisync to the other DVI connector on pc got windows desktop on that. The device manager on win 7 says Generic non-pnp monitor for the hazro, I made sure win 7 is up to date, I did a clean install of the latest Ge-Force driver 285.62 then played around with the desktop resolution managed to get a fuzzy desktop repeated 4 times on left side and 4 times on right side at a setting of 1280 x720 (I know this is a incorrect setting) my old NEC is 1600x1200 working Ok. Do you think the monitor is faulty as win7 sees it as a non-pnp monitor? my graphic card spec has dual-link DVI x2 max resolution of 2560x1600 so should be up to the job can you please help me?

The Good News: Your problem sounds similar to my initial ones.

The Bad News: My memory of these things is still a bit hazy.

I think one of the major problems I had initially was the fact that I was connecting 2 monitors, and Windows kept assuming that my original (old) monitor was the primary. If I recall correctly, what eventually happened was that I had to make sure that the port I was connecting to on the graphics card was the Dual-DVI one, and only boot up with the Hazro connected and switched on.

Try this and then check if the Hazro is displaying anything - starting with your initial splash screen/BIOS.

If this works, then bear in mind that when I eventually got things working, I had to leave the Hazro on and connected for at least half a minute or more before it moved on to the Windows Startup screen (FYI, the screen now behaves normally and as you would expect a computer monitor to :))

In the meantime, hopefully I can check my other posts and remember more. For now, try the above and let me know how you get along.

Make sure you're using an actual dual-link cable (if you're using the same cable as for the old monitor then it probably isn't dual link), there should be one included in the box.

The monitor always shows up as a generic PNP monitor btw, there are no Hazro drivers.

This is exactly what happened to me, it took me about an hour to sort it out. I've never had a problem using any other monitors in a dual setup but the Hazro seems fussy for some reason, whether it's the monitor or a problem with DVI + DUAL-DVI setups I don't know :)

Still no joy:mad: I have removed all Ge-force drivers with Drive Sweeper reset my BIOS removed internet connection rebooted to check no Ge-force drivers were installed using old monitor then reinstalled the latest Ge-force drivers 285.62 restarted pc with just the Hazro connected blank screen still I could hear Win 7 had booted so left for several minutes but no joy:mad: I am waiting for answers from Ocuk & Hazro is it my setup or do I have a faulty Hazro?

So let me get this straight, if you have JUST the Hazro connected, do you see bios, etc... and then it turns off once you get into Windows? If that's the case I'd say it's down to your Windows installation. If it never turns on it's either a dodgy dual-dvi cable (rare) or faulty monitor...
These are pre-calibrated by Hazro so you have to assume they had the monitors working at some point...

I just have the Hazro connected blue light flashing I then start the pc I cant see BIOS then blue light goes steady screen is on then as its a bit brighter I can hear win 7 start sound but nothing on Hazro I am using the Dual-link that came with monitor. Should I DSR or RMA it what is my best option?

If its not displaying BIOS, then there is an issue - mine at least ended up displaying BIOS after I got rid of the old monitor. Options:

(a) Not sure if its worth it but can you try and get into the BIOS on startup, restart without making changes, and see if that makes a difference?

(b) You have tried both DVI ports I assume?

(c) Have you tried killing your PSU power (i.e. off switch) completely and on again?

(d) [More extreme but] reseat your graphics card so it forces your system to do a full POST routine i.e. as if you had installed it anew.

(e) I don't think you should have reinstalled your Nvidia drivers with the old monitor - try to uninstall and disconnect the old monitor, then connect the Hazro.

Apart from these, not sure if there is anything else I can suggest :(

There is definitely something odd about the "handshake" going on between the monitor and the card with the WC.....good luck! Hopefully with a little bit of trial and error you will get there...

After getting a replacement a year ago (See pages 7 or 8ish of this thread) While playing BF3 my monitor did this

photopics051.jpg

Tapped the screen (yes, like it's the biggest ipad in the world) And it went to this

photopics050.jpg

Seems touching the screen 2 inches down and 2 inches causes the pic to go mental. If it only did it when I touched the screen then the old joke "Doctor, it hurts when I do this", "Well don't do it then" would apply. But it kicks in at random times and I have to play "Poke the monitor in the right place to get the screen to look proper" trick. And doing that while a tank barrels at you just ain't a fun time.

When my first 30" Hazro arrived damaged it was replaced straight away. I guess this time I have to ring Overclockers and get a RMA and all the fun that entails? Never had anything conk out before.

If it does go back to Hazro to be repaired I'm guessing it'll be gone 'til the new year what with Santa Time just around the corner. Bah humbug :D

More details added: It's possible to get the screen to act like it should, if I tap the screen it's possible to get a clear picture. But while the monitor is acting like the bottom picture the screen acts very strange. The right side of the screen acts how it should but the right side acts like the slowest tft screen you've ever seen. Even moving the mouse will leave massive trails over the left side.

Mines on its way due for tomorrow. If there's any problems ow does the rma work? As I don't want to send the monitor back to to without one for a few days meaning I can't use the pc.

I went for a non-glass version in the end. It arrived today and is perfect. No dust, no dead or stuck pixels. Everything looks phenominal on it :D

Question for you guys ...
wife has been asking what I want for my 40th birthday/christmas (geez already ;)
and this is at the top of my list.

1. Is the non glass version better; did I read the glass version has too much reflexion?
2. With OCuk is there a return policy in regards to issues such as what I have been reading; imperfections in the screen; dead pixels - dust or other scratches etc?
meaning can I return it if the screen doesnt look right?
3. Would this be a bad thing if I will be using this monitor on a ati card? ... atm a 5770 but seeing as how the new cards are coming out; I plan to get a 7 series soonish

Ill be moving up from a asus 25.5 inch 1920x1200 monitor (which I really like but want a little more realestate and still be able to play games.

thanks

So far..
Glass advantages: Easier to clean(?) and might look more classy depending on your personal preferences.
Glass disadvantages: Might end up in a million pieces during transport, might slide, might have dust trapped underneath, adds reflections
(and no it doesn't improve the image quality - not with an monitor that's already glossy in the first place)

Under the distance selling regulations you should always be able to return the product within the first 7 days, iirc you don't even have to mention why. It's simply your right to do so (costs to send it back are your own).
The ATI might proof itself to be problematic, there are plenty of people with a 5xxx card that experience problems and plenty that don't (my 5870 Mobility is fine with it).
