Boxing Day Bargains

However if you do need a specific item and it's very unlikely to be cheaper, it would be a bit silly not taking advantage.

It depends how you look at sales, some go out and buy pointlessly.
Others like in the black friday thread have items they want/need and can get them cheaper at such times.

fixed for you... Stuff people want sell fine at the price they are already and hence are usually not part of the sales...

I've been a couple of times in past years when my family decided they wanted to randomly, never found anything I wanted in the sale section... Its always in the unreduced area of store...

oh look! this shirt is down from £100 to £50 i must buy it to wear twice a year and then have it sit with my other 30 shirts

5 years ago, that would've been me. i was tempted to go to selfridges as the only item i need is a pair of black jeans and they often have good deals on diesel jeans but then i imagined the driving, the parking, the walking and the queing and realised i don't need a pair of black jeans that badly.

I have a pair of DKNY Black Jeans.

I think i worn it once in 2 years? lol

I think a lot of people are missing the point. A lot of people go out and waste money just because there's a so called sale on.

In some cases, items that are needed becomes a different story.

not true, i picked up some decent stuff which i will be wearing/using.

hoodies for £15 from republic, etc chinos for £20 from river island.

i have been wanting chinos for like 6 months but the ones i liked never had my size in stock at the time, etc and they were all over £60.

95% of the stuff in sales is crap, but if you manage to wriggle through it all you can find some really good stuff for next to nothing which makes it worthwhile.

also got a ted baker shirt for £27, absolute bargain, most of my ted baker shirts are have cost me over £75

So my Google skills haven't failed me :)

certainly not, plus even if you found them for sub £100 from "www.dodgyscamartist.com" would you even risk it? i know i wouldnt much like the people who buy "beats" for cheap off ebay and dodgy sites, etc they are all fakes.

you got them from the official adidas shop, they are the custom official adidas model. and you got them for £80 cheaper than what custom cans does custom versions for.

you got them for a steal, i bet you could sell them on ebay for £150+

exactly. i cringe at the amount of money i have wasted on clothes, not only in a sale but just in general. one bonus of having a reduced disposable income is that one becomes more careful with such purchases.

You waited 6 months to own chinos? Chinos were stocked everywhere long before JLS/The Wanted/boy bands came along and made them popular/gay.

I picked up a few pairs from Primark for £8 each. They fit my ass perfectly and look decent.

that just means you are bad with your choices whilst spending.

i have a pair of jeans i have probably worn 50+ times this year and i got them in a sale.

you should only buy what you actually like and will wear, buying for the sake of buying is retarded, therefore it's not the sales fault you don't know how to buy clothes.

ive also worn my all saint leather jacket probably over 20 times also which i got in a sale for £170ish last year down from £300. (i have a mate who paid £300 for it).

just because you made bad choices, doesn't make sales a waste of money.

I got some Ted Baker Shirts, paid £30 each for them, middle of the year, from TK Maxx :D

i doubt they would look half as good as this one, i bet they are crappy designs or plain ones.

i got a very stylish one.

every time i have been in tk maxx, all the shirts have looked really bad, in fact i doubt my dad would even wear them, they are all plain

i have made some good choices but on the whole, i've made more impulse buys that i could've done without

Now you are just making wild assumptions.

take a picture mate, of any of your £30 shirts, i'll take a pic of my £27 one, it will beat it hands down imo.

tk maxx has plain shirts, all 1 colour, etc with no style or character to them, you would be better off buying from next tbh, they have a lot better shirts

edit:

just realised i have left all my sales stuff at my fiancee's house (d'oh), since she drove us into town

ive got a pic of another shirt i'll upload that so you know the kind of style i mean. i wear these shirts at weddings / parties etc i do not buy shirts for work
