Games you want to love but just don't get on with.

Eve online, love the freedom & idea behind the game. After many tries, I just never got into it. It is like enjoying golf, a lot of people don't. A major part of it is the point & click.

(PC) Battlefield 3, for pretty much all the reasons mentioned by other posters in this thread.

(PS3) Gran Turismo 5, I loved the first one on the PSX1 but I just don't get this one at all. I fire it up now and again and hope to recreate the feel of the first one but always switch off disappointed.

I could never get into mass effect either. 3 hours in and I hated it. Not bothered with the second as a result. Metro 2033 quickly bored me as did AVP and for some reason I could never stick with portal. I'd play it and enjoy it but it never really hooked me enough to want to go back to it.

I read about BF3 bugs, they do seem to be some annoying ones.

Darkfall Online.

Great concept, bad UI, to much grind & not enough content.

Boom, this. The game was to unfocused for me (which fans of liked) and I just found myself wandering and eventually dying of radiation poison again and again.

I did the same when I first tried it then wasn't going to bother with it again. Then I saw a thread on the complete mod on here and decided to give it another try and its now one of my all time favourite games.

To stop the radiation you need to use anti rad meds or you can also find armour that is rad resistant and also artefacts that give you more rad resistance. Try to stay away from areas of high radiation until you find these. Or it could be that you have no rad resistance and have an artefact that gives off radiation that is causing you to die.

I can see why a lot of people are put off the game at first, but once you get past the first few hours it becomes a lot easier. Probably why it wouldn't have ever worked on console as its not really a game for casual gamers.

Despite owning shedloads of games that I seldom get the chance to play at least they were bought because they were on offer and cheap but 1 series has alway got me stumped.

Dead Rising

Own 1, 2 and Off the Record but have barely play more than 10 mins of any of them. It has pretty much most of the things I look for in an enjoyable game (muckaboutability, crazy weapons, awful attempt at humor ect...) but even after psyching myself up to play any of them I've turn what ever system off after 5 mins. Must be the mass amount of zombies in games these days.

Maybe try paying attention rather than wandering off into nowhere? :p

EVE. No matter how many times I started to play it and WANTED to continue playing it, just couldnt get on with it.

This.

Love the setting etc but yeah, I never find a decent enough group of people to play with that are also patient :P Everyone's miles ahead and feel like a speck of dust. Tried to get into it about a dozen times.

Starcraft 2 just puts me in a bad mood because of the sheer amount of energy required to play at a decent level.

I'm a total stress head when playing that game :D

lol it's easy to take SC2 a bit too seriously on the ladder. Massive stressfest if you're not careful.

I generally find playing custom games to just mess around with friends helps in feeling a bit better and enjoying the game more if the ladder's horrible :p
