I couldn't even get it to work properly kept getting boot loops with it
Yeh, you need to flash ICS build over the top of the weekly build apparently. Worked for me, but just had problems. Trying miuiandroid.com build now

Exact same problem here with the scrolling
KP8 is near usable day to day I find with just the odd glitch.
Camera and video seems ok as well as video playback, camera sometimes refuses to close with the back button though.
The CM9 thread is now locked on XDA anyway because people were being noobs 
But yeah, CM9 got updated to KP8. There's also the official KP8 and KP4 leaks from Samfirmware but they too have various bugs and things.
People on XDA have been hating on Touchwhiz but there's nothing stopping anyone from installing the Trebuchet launcher from CM9 is there?
I'll be using GoLauncher anyway so it's all good.

So how many of you actually have insurance for your phone?
Im still unclear what happens in the situation you lose, or have your phone stolen? (Is damage in the same boat here, or something different?)
Do you still have to pay for the contract? Do you not get a replacement free, or pay a small fee to the network you subscribe to?

I have insurance through my Co-op bank account together with various other benefits for a monthly charge.
As with all insurance, you pay a premium for the policy and then an excess which you pay if you need to claim on the policy. The value of this will vary from provider to provider. What is covered will be outlined by the provider, by damage it would generally be if it was damaged enough to impact daily usage such as a cracked screen.

I've rooted my phone using CF-Root, but I've got no idea which rom to go for. There is such a large number to choose from. Are there any which stand out or are more popular than others? I'm looking for something that provides as much of a performance/battery usage boost as possible, would somebody mind pointing me in the right direction?

are probably the most popular
personally im using MIUI at the moment - best battery life i've found and good performance(Really never seen the phone lag or take long to do anything so logically every rom should perform good)
Can I ask what miui Rom your using on your sgs 2 ? Thanks

I'm having issues removing Cyanogenmod 7. Kies and Odin do not detect the phone, even though I can hear the notification from windows that it has detected the phone. What can I do to install different (i.e. stock) firmware on the phone?
