What film did you watch last night?

Water For Elephants.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Outside of Twilight, Robert Patterson does alright ! That Remember me was excellent too !

I think I preferred the 1st having Arnie not having any affection. Like when he says, now I know why you cry ???????????? Hello ???? He's a frickin Terminator.. not an emotional councelor. Get on with the killing and protecting if that's what you're programmed to do. I preferred him cold.
I'm sure if the scene is in the theatrical release, but he does explain that his programming allows him to learn emotions etc, as it allows him to fit in better and therefore do his job better.

Pattinson is actually a good actor. Unfortunately, he is typecast as a love interest and nothing more.

The same cannot be said about Taylor Lautner, who for me, ranks as the worst actor currently in Hollywood, getting regular work. No one even comes close when it comes to bad acting.

If they had an anti-Oscar award for the worst actor, Lautner would win it at a canter. I hope for his sake, he improves.

In the directors cut there's a significant scene that they for some reason deemed unnecessary for the theatrical release. In this they come to the conclusion shortly after rescuing Sarah that one way Arnie may be able to 'outsmart' the T-1000 is to have his inhibitor chip removed. This chip was put there in skynets design of the T-101 to prevent free thought.

The removal of this allowed Arnie to think more creatively, hence why i believe his decisions in combat became more outlandish when in the early sections of the film they were much more methodical (running up onto the truck and surfing it into the smelting plant, awesome stuff!) and allowed him to understand and begin to develop a form of emotion.

Don't know what I was expecting.

Rewatched 'You've Got Mail' again today as it was on. 6/10 Decent.

Booooooo ! I've just checked my BD ver and it's only the theatrical version. I'd like to see the directors cut. oh well.

They fixed his chip to allow him to learn, so he could come to understand how humans value one another, in spite of his programming being that humans are worthless and to be killed. And if you bothered to pay attention to the rest of the quote, it would be clear that he's still the cold killer you want.

The Reader – love, guilt, what an absorbing film. Find some time for this one. 8/10

Just watched this. One of the few films to ever emotionally disturb me. Probably for the wrong reasons as well.

I thought some of the gratuitous nudity and sex was unwarranted though, which believe it or not tarnished the film slightly for me, as it renders it unsuitable for some audiences.

Still, a solid 8.5-9/10

Thanks for the recommendation!

Shame they didn't put you in the movie TBH...

To be terminated that is ! ;)

Real Steel

My wife and I watched this last night and we both thoroughly enjoyed it, yes its just a remake of Rocky but with robots thrown into the mix but it was still very enjoyable.

I cant put my finger on why we liked it as much as we did, maybe we were just in the right frame of mind to watch it.

8/10

Sorry, not sure why I was being so bad tempered last night.

Apology accepted................ Captain Needa !

Received Star Wars on bluray for Xmas :)

My GF never watched SW before and she was trying to fight it ... she loved it
Need to find some time for the last episode :)

The Inbetweeners Movie

My new flatmate had seen it but we both watched it, and I predicted every moment of the film to her before it then happened. Way too predictable, rinsing the same jokes out over and over again and it's just like those holidays I remember when I was a youth, cringeworthy !!

3/10
