Could do with some advice please - I'm thinking of upgrading the fork on my Specialized Pitch Comp 2010, although the travel is now lovely and buttery smooth, its too soft for me.

So what I want is a fork that has 140/150/160mm travel, 1" 1/8th steerer tube, Maxle and is around £250-300 - ideally in the sale!

Can anyone recommend a good such fork? Air would be a bonus, as it'd avoid me ending up with the same issues this fork currently has. (Pike 327, if anyone cares... or wants one)

Oh, and silver stanchions are a complete no. Just, dont even go there.

Zocchi 55's ala http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/33893/Marzocchi_55_TST2_Air_Forks_2011

I've got them on my heckler and do the job. Marzocchi sorted their problems out and 2011's were back to their best.

I generally run 2.25 Nobby Nics and ride around Wales, Peaks, Gisburn etc, mainly cross country type riding I suppose and I probably only weigh about 180lbs kitted up. The new Arch EX is supposedly lighter, wider and stronger than the old Arch and is not much thinner than the Flow but it is a fair bit lighter! Problem is, as they're new no one has written anything about them!

Well you will just need to take the risk then :)

Flows rock and stand up to a lot of hard riding, while still weighing sweet f/a - it's a safe bet.

Wheres the fun in being safe! :D

Or you could think of it this way; having an overly capable wheelset means you'll be totally comforable riding a little out of your comfort zone, which more often than not equals fun :p I know I feel totally confident with my flows in parts of the Peaks when you're bombing the rock gardens.

Whilst that is nice and I do like them in general, I don't understand, just what is your fascination with Morewood?

Someone has to buy them.

To be honest its fugly, looks as though they ran out or tubing and had to bodge the seat tube by welding together anything they had lying around.

Inc ABP stickers ;)

Do I need a reason for liking it?
Handbuilt, rare, light, strong, low maintenance, good working, good looking bikes appeal to me.

Obviously they are a box ticker for you, and like I said I think they are nice too, just wondered if you had shares in them or something :p

Yea, it was a toss up between this or the 170mm Enduro bike, but that's just too much travel for "the do it all", considering I already have a DH bike that won't be replaced. (well, will be replaced with just another Makulu... trying to sell the whole bike now in fact)
