Maybe I'm getting old, but why do so many people (mainly women) walk around clutching their smartphones as if their life depended on it?
There's some extreme cases like the girl in the pub texting on her phone while kissing her boyfriend, one eye was on facebook. What is she posting "I'm snogging him!"?? or the group of 6 girls in a pub, each one was on a smartphone and they said literally nothing to each other for minutes.
I also have two female friends who have their phones with an audible alert and screenflash everytime they get texted/facebooked, yet they still click the screen every minute to check. I asked them why they do it and the answer was "just incase", I then explain it always gives you the audible alert and flash, to which I get a glazed look.
In before "you're hurt they're not paying attention to you" comments, because it isn't that. I'm genuinely wondering if it's some form of addiction.
