Is it offensive to...

Almost everywhere does seem to separate iPads from general tablets though, so to the general consumer they probably think they're different. I agree though it's a tablet plain and simple.

It's because the iPad brand is so strong and the marketing, as well as the product so good.... Average jo would consider buying an iPad or maybe one of those strange low profile tablet things...

if your decided on calling the iPad a tablet computer then did you always call the iPod touches a tablet computer ?

as said above the branding is so good that it has pretty much become its own 'thing' . call it what you want though.

The iPod Touch isn't a tablet though, it's a pda surely?

And there we have it ladies and gentlemen. :)

Irritates the **** out of me that people continue to perpetuate the Apple utopia.

Stop looking over the fence with green envy and come and jump on over, it's a nicer world in here, it looks a bit like the teletubbies set.

I call my Touchpad my Touchpad, my Blackberry my Blackberry, my Macbook Pro my Macbook or laptop .

 It's a tablet, a phone and a mother ****ing mobile personal computer!!!!!!   RAWWWWRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course it's a tablet but it might be too big for his mouth.

I don't know, I've yet to meet an Apple user who doesn't have a big mouth. :D

To the person who said iPhone users expect their device to go down on them: you do know there's a device that attaches a Fleshlight to an iPad, so this is literally possible?

No I didn't and I can't believe Apple haven't picked up on the idea to market it to travelling salesmen, lonely nerds and those just not getting any :)

I just might do.
I love my SGS and I'm not interested in an iPhone.
I love my ASUS Transformer but I'm now beginning to realise that in the Tablet world the iPad rocks and there's loads of stuff for the iPad that isn't on Android especially when it comes to music software.

You'll no doubt want to get an iPhone 4S to go with the iPad eventually, the sync between them is very, very good. I think you'd like it.

Plus, the 4S is a pretty big upgrade over the original SGS.

I don't think its offensive to call an iPad a tablet computer, just more of a mouthful :P

iPads are now pretty popular for musicians

Lemur is awesome for controlling DAW software such as Ableton and Reason

nanostudio is now iPad native and is amazingly powerful once you get to grips with it

give one a try is you can :)
