That's the thing, I'm 90% sure I'm on 64-bit Windows 7 professional! Had exactly the same prob when on 64-bit Vista Ultimate.
Am going to test the sticks one by one tonight, see if a stick is dead. If they're all fine, gonna try each slot. If the slot is dead, then i guess I'll be hunting (or trying to) for a 775 mobo
Either way, can i close the browser when switching to the Battlefield game itself without any problems, or does Battlelog need to be 'up' so to speak?

just go post on virgin forums we had similar issue with black ops last year and it was being routed all round the shop at peak times.
took them about a week to sort and was back to normal.

I have well over 100 hours in the Jet now - Came across a pilot who is currently in the top 10 in the world and had my arse handed to me. He was untouchable in the F18 and I only got one kill on him when he was in the flanker.
I thought I had my break turning down but this guy was on another level.

Me too. I use Mouse+Keyboard
. May need to my turn buttons from mouse to keyboard as its a pain constantly moving mouse to turn, as I dont get as much of a sharp turn as id like.do any of you jet guys have joysticks ?

I just use mouse and keyboard. I did set up a dual analogue gamepad for use early on but I found that even more difficult to control. Maybe if I'd given it more time it would have become more intuitive.
Anyway I'm up to about 15 hours in jets and do ok some of the time, however I quite often come across flyers who just totally wipe the floor with me. Nothing I do can defend against them and they seem able to turn the jet on a sixpence. I have adopted the spacebar thing to pull up which has helped a lot but I guess that 15 hours is nothing compared with the 100s of hours some of these guys put in.
One of my major issues is spotting the enemy aircraft. If no one on the team is spotting (most of the time) then by the time I see them I've already missed the opportunity to attack. Hammering Q helps in Normal but in Hardcore I just seem to see nothing.
If im getting tailed, I tend to fly towards my AA as it tends to scare them which gives me time to spin around or make a turn etc.
I may have to adopt the spacebar for pulling up too, and use keys for turning.
Regarding the spotting, thats why I always try to play with people on TS, then atleast they can spot enemies and let me know where they are, so im ready.

Optimum turning speed is 290 - 310 which is on the left of the hud. Play pretty much HC only, spotting is an arse but teammates and Air Radar always help.
Look up BF2 / BFPlay4Free jet guide. Johnny Snakes will always lose noob pilots. Most people that try and get on my tail find me on their within 30-45 seconds.
Always keep an eye on your AA. Circle over them when trying to lose good pilots and they will either get killed or bug out.
On a serious note tho.....C4 Jets are HARD!!!!!
One thing i've found on some servers that I've got the jet in my radar, i'm turning as it's turning and just about to see it as it's in my sights on radar then it's gone!. The jet is gone on radar, this is ok in third person view but on a hardcore server like ocuk you can't see outside and are limited by radar. Then i'm being shot at by the same jet but it's still not on my radar

If enemy jets go a certain amount higher or lower than you they will go off radar.
Depends on your play style but the M16A3 is just the most balanced gun over all, doesn't make it the best in every situation though.
