Who here owns a Renaultsport?

I check the forsale section on the clio sport website every hour or so at work, so alex if anything good pops up your gonna have to beat me to buying it :P

Also just sold my strut brace on there and still trying to shift xenon ballast and ignitor if anyone knows anybody who needs one!

Also my *Ahem* winter or more correctly snow and mud tyres have only worn down by about 2mm since the start of november which i think for about 3 months and 5k miles isnt too bad, I dont hoon it too much in the winter and they peform reasonably well whilst being kumhos! Prob take them off end of feb early march and replace them with some hankook v12s! :D

MikeHiow, how long you reckon to fit Sportlines and new front shocks start to finish, assuming the bolts come off without issue?

My front coilies took about 2hours to fit after you minus all the ****ing around and messing with ride height etc. My main problem was the top mount bolt, i simply couldn't get it undone. I had to drive down to the local garage and get them to crack it with a buzzer. Rears where a piece of ****, about 30mins each side.

I am seriously considering getting a 182 to replace my 1.2. Decided modifiying my Clio upto a 172 would be a very bad idea!

Any ideas on how much I should look to spend on a good one?

Thanks

Front shocks shouldn't take you longer than an hour assuming you'll assemble them in advance? (Have you got some new top mounts to go with them? If not, why not?) You shouldn't even need spring compressors with the sportlines.

The rear shocks can be done in half hour - just make sure you get the car on axle stands (front on the ground), leaving your jack free to support the rear beam - it'll make your life a lot easier.

My car is handling like gash at the moment. Need my alignment done again, tyre pressures need checking, also need to raise the back up a bit, and lower the front a bit.

Am I right in thinking that if the read is too low you'll lose front end grip? I kind of feel like with the rear being too low, as I accelerate too much weight is being put on the rear of the car so the front feels loose.

Take it to a decent place for the alignment done, from my understanding in a road car you want it pretty level.

Your car is pretty low is it not? May want to raise it a tad, as you'll find the lows are most likely what is causing the ride to feel a bit skittish.

I managed to force the key in there but it was really stiff when I tried to turn it, I didn't want to risk breaking anything

I'm hoping that it might warm up a little bit by lunch time

Yeah possibly. I took it to a place near Dartford for alignment last time, they're really highly recommended, so I'll go there again. I'll have to wait though as I'm skint this month.

Went to get some fuel this morning as the fuel light was on, damn filler cap was frozen so I am currently playing the fuel lottery!

I had that once (whenever it was last this cold). Took me about 10 minutes messing around with it to get it off :(

I also did something extremely retarded this morning. My windscreen was not frozen, but a bit dirty, and because my washer jets aren't working at the moment, I poured some water on the windscreen. I then had to wait 5-10 minutes while the ice melted!!!!
