Pakistan v England Test Series *** Spoilers ***

Love Boycott as a commentator, sad that he doesnt commentate for Sky sports, think that was due to him beating his ex gf or wife a few yrs ago. But that aside he usually knows what hes talking about. Same with Bumble, hes gets awfully excited when commentating and i love his little quips he makes every so often.

Willis is just plain boring, his voice annoys me but what annoys me more is him complaining about Ajmal's arm action during the test series with Pakistan saying it contravenes the ICC standards...poor show from a very sore english loser. Botham i dont mind too much although im no huge fan of his tbqh.

It's convenient though how all these spin bowlers have had weird accidents that prevent their arms straightening. :p

His comments needed to be directed towards the ICC and their ruling if he is unhappy about it, not towards a particular player if their action has been cleared. But I think his main point was, if it is allowed, we need to teach young English bowlers to bowl like that too. It's a perfectly good point then, and I fully agree with it.

Reverse swing, also invented by Pakistani bowlers was also regarded as cheating and ball tampering by England before they knew how to do it! (as Tinders above has said).

For those saying drop some of our senior players (England) for the younger guys..
Our ODI team is playing the Lions ODI team, and the Lions got bowled out in 23 overs for 90 something runs .
Standouts were Taylor and Woakes who got 30 somethings each, no one else got a score.

The 'senior' side being used, so i imagine will be similar to the one playing the first ODI has few shocks in it, biggest being that there's no place for Broad it seems.

Anyway:
Cook, KP, Trott, Bopara, Morgan, Kieswetter, Patel, Bresnan, Swann, Finn, Dernbach

Ahh another Willis in disguise?? lol...what makes me laugh is that no one from the ICC has mentioned it but the sore loser that is Willis takes it upon himself to mention...

By the way whats your excuse about Rehman??, who skittled u lot out in the 2nd test...does he have dodgy arm action??

Lol, funny thing is, all swing bowlers were cheats before the English could do it:p

PMSL indeed...now that Broad and Anderson can somewhat swing the ball...the english dont harp on about cheating and ball tampering...such hypocrisy from England at times.

Anyone see the Pakistan/Afghanistan ODI yesterday? Entirely expected dominance from Pakistan, but great to see the Afghans playing such a big match. They've shot up from nowhere in such a short time, it's amazing.

Must say like all the English commentators apart from Nick Knight, who was a bit of a ****. Makes my day seeing Bob Willis's face after an England defeat, the pain is etched on his face!

The only commentator i hate is Ramiz Raja, doesn’t have clue what he's talking about sometimes.

Another thing i noticed is how forced the Sky panels positive appraisal of the Pakistani team is, its cringe worthy at times.

Regarding Ajmals action, if the ICC have approved it then who the hell is anyone to say otherwise. Rehman skittled England out as well and he is pretty much a nothing bowler.

As mentioned above if England can’t do it the other side must be cheating, just makes them look like sore losers.

On a side note don’t know what all the fuss is about, England ARE a world class team, best at the moment so no need to panic. I fully expect them to do well or win the ODI's. If the press and public stop hyping them so much none of this would be going on.

Pakistan have something they sometimes lack and that is the will to win and a mental toughness. Their batting needs to improve, maybe get rid of the 2nd openar and need an all rounder in there too, someone like razzaq. They are 1 seemer short, man Amir you are such a clown. He was a legend in the making....

If Pakistan hadn't lost Amir/Asif they would have an incredible bowling lineup - it's no wonder England had a few frights against them last time they played at home, that was one hell of a lineup!

It was a ****ing joke, Jesus. :o

No point making another thread for this, but the first ODI is tomorrow at 11am.

Possible team lineups (taken from cricinfo).

PAKISTAN:

1 Mohammad Hafeez
2 Imran Farhat
3 Asad Shafiq
4 Younis Khan
5 Misbah-ul-Haq
6 Umar Akmal (wk)
7 Shoaib Malik
8 Shahid Afridi
9 Saeed Ajmal
10 Umar Gul
11 Wahab Riaz

ENGLAND:

1 Alastair Cook (capt)
2 Kevin Pietersen
3 Jonathan Trott
4 Ravi Bopara
5 Eoin Morgan
6 Craig Kieswetter (wk)
7 Samit Patel
8 Tim Bresnan
9 Stuart Broad
10 Graeme Swann
11 Steven Finn

Pakistan have a much more attacking batting line up this time which you would expect, but again I think the key will be our spinners, in particular Afridi and Ajmal.

England opening with KP I think, so we will need his wicket early. If it comes to the 25th over and he is still there, the scorecard probably won't be looking good for Pakistan.

I'm at work tomorrow. :mad::(

Anderson .. ugh :( never impressed me at all in ODI's

He had a bad world cup and has never been the best ODI bowler but is still one of the best pace bowlers we have.

Why is Crazy frog the chosen song for boundarys?

EDIT: Pakistan waste their only review in the 4th over.

Cant believe the umpire gave KP out for that, reviewed and KP found not out on review.
I realise its a low pitch but KP's pretty tall and it hit him about as high on the pad as it could get.

Pietersen reviews and given not out. 19-0 off 4.2.

Who would you pick instead of Anderson then? There hasn't been any county cricket(obviously because its winter) therefore you can only pick those that were part of the Lions, and I don't think there is anybody in the Lions that is suitable to take Andersons place..

Briggs played very well in all the Lions games, getting a stack of wickets. Another spinner wouldn't hurt on these wickets i feel, Patel's comfortable opening the bowling and if we really need another pseudo seam option then we have Bopara.
