What film did you watch last night?

Stuck on the hangover last night, always a good laugh and better than the follow up I think.7/10.
I've heard a few of the guys at work mention the prestige, sounds good!!

Drive, I didn't know anything about this film before I watched it.

I was though expecting some kind of high octane action film, based around lots of cars, and chases with the rozzers etc.....

There wasn't hardly anything like that, and what there was, didn't impress me or anyone else.

The main character was a bit weird to say the least, he sounded like he was on anti-depressants and looked like he couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag.

The whole film is messed up, and just doesn't make any sense

I think it's safe to say you completely miss understood and just 'didn't get' the film.

Its one of those sorts of films, you either "get it" or you dont. I thought Drive was an absolutely superb piece of art, mind you , I knew it wasnt all about car chases and action though going into it.

On the other hand, I actually dont think Pulp Fiction is any good and cant understand the hype over that. (which I also think is a movie you either get or dont, I clearly didnt on that one)

Watch the 1953 western Shane, then re-watch Drive.
Trust me.

The Muppets
3/10

I cleared missed the point of this movie, could be because I'm 24 or could be because I expected a lot more from the movie.

I suppose even the 12 year olds won't get the movie either since nobody pre 1990 will even know who the Muppets are.

And the countless list of celebrity cameos just seems to be an attempt to boost publicity.

Comparing all the Muppets movies, I'd have to say that A Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island were a lot better than this.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off. This is actually the first time I've seen this film. So I wasn't revisiting a much loved film from my childhood. But still quite enjoyed it. It has stood the test of time and the comedy despite a couple of slapstick moments. 7/10

Puss in boots 6/10 not too bad not as funny as the shrek films.
Take shelter 7/10 again not bad.
Starwars revenge of the sith. 9/10 for the picture and sound , 5/10 for the film too many plot holes poor acting etc.
In time. 5/10 its just logans run but not as good.
Have hugo to watch later. :)

Hugo 6/10 - as mentioned, was missing something. I didn't quite get the connection between the boys father and the automaton. It seemed to make out like it was central to something but then the end of the film just neglects it entirely.

Oldboy 9/10 - Great film that I had been meaning to watch for years. Lots of great twists and kept me interested throughout.

Tinker, Tailor, soldier, spy 8/10 - Really good film that seemed to fly by. Great cast and great performances.

Been meaning to watch downfall again recently as I remember it being absolutely superb but wasn't sure if that was my younger self speaking.

I don't think that I have come across a film with reviews from different people with such different scores.

Some people say that this is one of the most boring films they have ever seen, while others say it is good.

I think I am going to have to watch this, just to see who was right.

Nobody is right or wrong.

There are films that are quite obviously dire but films like Tinker don't have an obvious thing like that. It's the kind of film that only appeals to a certain audience in the same way that only a certain audience will find Napolean Dynamite absolutely hilarious while some will class it as 'cringeworthy'.

Watched TT3D-Closer to the Edge.

Just WOW. Even if you aren't into motor racing, motorbikes or the TT, watch it!

Amazing, documentary!

Quite right. The thing with Tinker is that it relies on your powers of observation in order to convey its story to you,it requires some thought from its audience. There are loads of little things which all come together,it really is a superb piece of storywriting.

Drive is the same as well^ Add The Sunset limited to that list too, I have friends who laughed after the movie because it was so appealing to them but it's a movie you have to watch and think quite hard about, the dialogue is amazing and the 2 actors playing both rolls are heavyweights and play off each other amazingly.
