What film did you watch last night?

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

Very good, intelligent humour and well acted/directed .. so that's a solid 8/10 (where 5 is average). Had all four of us fits of laughter.

Is The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, similar in humour to 4 Weddings and a Funeral (and all the other British based comedy movies)?

I ask this because I find movies like that very unfunny and boring, as the story lines are usually terribly boring.

For me, Hugh Grant is an expert at making unfunny movies.

Finally got round to watching Moneyball last night. This is the first time in a very long time that:

- I've read a book
- Enjoyed it
- Watched the adaptation
- Enjoyed it

I like Michael Lewis as a writer, his books have a transparency which so very adaptable to the big screen. I like Aason Sorkin as a scriptwriter, his work has such great delivery and urgency. Therefore these two combined should work? They very much do.

Out of the 300 or so pages of Moneyball there must only be ten pages worth of dialogue, with the rest being an account, and therefore turning the book into a film script and making it actually interesting is by no means a small feat. It's incredibly well paced and the film really does stay true to the book by including relatively mundane ideas - almost as a tribute (Bill James' brief mention).

Was a bit disappointing to see Paul DePodesta's character morphed somewhat, but apart from that I really enjoyed this film. Although the focus is Baseball, I wouldn't really refer to it as a sports film.

9/10

No, nothing like 4 weddings.

Centurion - got bored, lost interest but quite bloody. 3/10

The Social Network - liked this more than I thought I would. 8/10

The Adjustment Bureau - really like this and Emily Blunt is just lovely. 7/10

Master & Commander - another really good film 8/10

I got Sly movies for a couple of months so really making an impression on the sofa!

I saw an advert today for NetFlix.
Unlimited streaming of movies, for something like £7 a month.
If this is correct then this is truly an outstanding deal.
I wouldve thought that an unlimited streaming account would be closer to £30/month.

And does your ISP allow you enough GB per month... that's where ISP make it expensive to have NetFlix/Lovefilm streamed movies compared to their own ISP offerings.

The Human Centipede 2 (Uncut) - 3/10

I could never understand all the fuss about the first film and how sick it was. This one tries it's best to shock but for most horror fans it will be a walk in the park.
Overall it isn't very good and I would not recommend it, horror fan not.

There are plenty of unlimited ISP services.

It's only £6 as it has a limited catalogue. However you only need to watch 3films a month to make it worthwhile. I've watched way way more than that so far. More like 15 films and 4 tv seasons.

Wall street money never sleeps

Was ok, 6/10.

Of course.
There are plenty of unlimited ISPs out there.

I am with O2, which uses Be's LLU backbone.
It is unlimited...I have never ever been throttled or told I am transferring too much data.
My data transfer usage is approximately 200-300GB a month.
