What film did you watch last night?

Of course.
There are plenty of unlimited ISPs out there.

I am with O2, which uses Be's LLU backbone.
It is unlimited...I have never ever been throttled or told I am transferring too much data.
My data transfer usage is approximately 200-300GB a month.

+1 same as me!

Drive - 9/10

Really enjoyed this, brilliant film. Well worth watching. It has great cinematography throughout and a decent soundtrack, there are a couple of disturbing scenes. Also impressed by Ryan Gosling's performance. It's the best film I've seen in a while.

Me and my GF watched this last night, she was soo bored she was browsing the web at the end. I cant blame her to be honest.

It would be kind if I give it a 5/10 for the following.

1)Dialogue - The whole script would fit on about 30 pages, it is just filled with long pauses.

2)Story - Very little and simple, if the film had less pauses and silence it may have had more time for a good story.

3)Acting - Didn't think it was that great.

4)What was the point in him being a stunt man, was hardly used in the film and it had all of one decent chase

5)Violence - I dont dislike it, tbh some of it made me lol, but it just seemed out of place in the film for some reason.

Apart from that it was OK.:p

Hugo

I understand why the masses would find this film slow and boring to put it bluntly. This was a film for cinema lovers, people who are not only enchanted by the history of film but also by those who understand the beginnings of today's Hollywood.

I found this film truly brilliant, Martin Scorsese is not only a brilliant director, he also clearly has a passion for the medium. There were so many references, so many nods to the early days of cinema that I was almost overwhelmed.

Fantastically shot, wonderfully acted. This is NOT a film for everyone, infact it is a very niche film beyond anything but a child's railway station adventure. Beyond that level of understanding you have to have some interest, prior knowledge, some anticipation for learning to even begin to grasp what this picture is trying to portray.

If you love the Departed (cool action and story) or love Goodfellas (cool action and story) don't go expecting to like this film. It's not about the action or the drama or the twists and turns. It is about the adventure, not only a child's dreams, but also the adventure of an entire lifetime, a lifetime of cinema, movie-making and technology.

Awesome (for true cinema buffs, not movie buffs, cinema buffs).

8/10

Remember Me 2010

Riddled with poor-quality teen angst from a suprisingly fangless Robert Pattinson, this romantic melodrama desperately claws at those fleeing the cinema with an implausably controversial ending.

Despite a suprisingly believable Italian American accent from Pierce Brosnon, and some memorable one-liners ("our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch" - awww :p ), plots are too visible [read: neon road sign] and the journey to them takes as long as the New York traffic depicted on screen.

Key cringe-moment is the drunken, father-son board room arguement; if this sentence alone isn't enough to put you off watching it then kindly take note of the following:

Do not watch this film, it is poor and you will weep not for the storyline, but for the time lost to its viewing.

2.5/10

Bronson.

For lack of a better word, it was 'different'... ;)

Can definitely see how the director went from this to directing 'Drive' a few years later. He certainly has a very good ear for soundtracks!

The film didn't have much to it, and is not one I would watch again.

I'd give it 6/10

I love films like Bronson which is a 'true' story so I find it hard to give scores.
I'm watching Dahmer at the moment.

Can you expand at all on any of your vague comments? :)

For a 'true cinema buff' you seem to convey very little apart from the words 'brilliant' and 'awesome'. :p

its like a story of cinema and film rolled in with the plot . they obviously chose martin to do the film becuase of this and it shows.

only thing is the film meanders near half way and you actually dont really care what happens.

beautifully filmed and nice visually but 45 mins too long getting to the point. feels like watching a kids films rolled in with discovery channel trying to make you learn about how films were born

id give it 7/10 for the art and filming style

Trollhunter, I quite enjoyed it, watched it on Thursday with a friend on pizza night, and last night with the GF.

Didn't quite get the ending though...

Why did Hans wander off into the distance? Was it that he had enough of killing and wanted to go away?

And what happpened to the film crew? If they were captured how did the tapes get out? And if the TSS did capture them why didn't they do it sooner to prevent the tapes getting out, they had lots of opportunities to get away!

Overall 7.5/10 as one of the characters had a cheesy grin and a little annoying at times.
