Breaking news!!!!

Andre Villa-Boas has parted company with Chelsea Football Club today.

The board would like to record our gratitude for his work and express our disappointmentthat the relationship has ended so early.

Unfortunately the results and performances of the team have not been good enough and were showing no signs of improving at a key time in the season.

The club is still competing in the latter stages of the Uefa Champions League and the FA Cup, as well as challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League, and we aim to remain as competitive as possible on all fronts.

With that in mind we felt our only option was to make a change at this time.

With immediate effect Roberto Di Matteo has been appointed first team coach on an interim basis until the end of the season.

LOLChelsea:D just heard about it now...brilliant news for us seeing as Chelsea are in disarray lol.

Abramovich is a joke of an owner...no stability in the Chelsea side...

Been a long time coming, seems silly to me to wait until the latter stages of the season when we've been in tatters since October.

Not surprised at all, but I'm sure the millions in his bank account are soothing any miss-feelings he has about his time at Chelsea. :p

They need a yes man who'll take it up the backside from the owner, bow down to player pressure and stick with the 30+ year olds that still think they're the future of the club. Does such a manager exist?

As a Chelsea fan, I'm pretty disappointed by this. Having said that we weren't performing, and unfortunately it's the manager that has to take the blame. He talked about this 3 year project, which I believed in because we'd brought so many promising youngsters in over the summer, but I guess Abramovich just doesn't have the patience!
