What film did you watch last night?

The Woman in Black 7/10

I'm trying to differentiate it from the play, but I'm really struggling. I feel like the play was a better, however I'm not sure the way the play done would have worked on a big screen, so I think the fact that they adjusted it for cinema was probably a good thing. This aside, it was a pretty solid film. Never in my life have I understood how children are scared enough to hide between a sofa and peep over the top. But for some reason I really wanted to whilst watching this. Also freaked me out enough that gf got scared by the sound a maserati once we'd left the cinema, and we both got freaked out by a sun dial on top of a church with an orb, that looked vaguely humanesque shaped. Daniel Radcliffe, wasn't as bad as I was expecting either.

This means war 8/10!

Dragged there by the missus not expecting much pleasently suprised to find it a very amusing film :).

The Happening 4/10.

Everything about this film was disappointing. The acting was well below par considering the strength of the cast. The plot seemed under developed which was a shame because it could have been a good film. Not recommended.

Safe House - thought it was a good 'one time' watch movie (from the trailer it looked pretty rubbish). 6.5/10

Muppets - A jolly and uplifting movie, great for the kids (and big kids!) Hope they bring out more show/movies soon as it's been ages since their last adventure. 7/10

Watched Shuttle and Black Swan.

Shuttle gets 5/10. There was suspense but it was weak. Partly obvious story line.

Black Swan gets 8/10. I enjoyed this, it had self corruption with unknowing until the triggers lit up like a halogen in your face then leaving you trying to think what happens next.

I've just watched Fight Club for the first time in about 5 years :)
Long enough that whilst I could remember bits of it, a lot of it had been forgotten.

Probably about an 8 out of 10.

We also watched The Expendables a couple of days back.
I paid £5 for the blu-ray on a whim as I was it in the supermarket, I didn't expect much more than a brainless action film, I think I was robbed of about £4.50 (the case can be used to replace a damaged one....).
It's one of the worst films I've seen in a while, I can only imagine they got the budget by saying to the studio "hey, it's got Stallone and a bunch of other action actors, it'll make some money".
Even my dad (who watched Sy-Fi "movie of the week" stuff), turned to me at the end and said "that was worse than the cowboy and indian films I watched as a kid"

Even the SFX didn't work well, when one of the bad guys was "on fire", it looked like something from a video game, they'd obviously used a cgi model for it as it was cheaper than getting a stunt actor in given they had to do background cgi at the same time.

I'd rate it about a 2 or 3 out of 10, it almost made me want to put on Sharktopus* or one of the later Police Academy films on to make the transistion back to half decent films less of a shock.

*Yes, I bought Sharktopus, for a joke. It was cheap.
Stop looking at me like that:p
