I really like that, could have given him a proper fear and loathing spliff :p

Spent some more time sculpting my character this morning, still loads to do...

Think you have a few funky muscle groups going on there. The weight feels off, I know it's not posed but it should really be captured before. Upper legs and elbows need some real work. I tend to oversize the hands slightly then work them down, at the moment they are very skinny.

/edit have a look at you life drawing for the overall balance of the model.

What muscle groups seem off?
The only thing from there which I can see is the inner bicep the rest I've got reference for which I'm working from, infact at another glance maybe some more definition on the top of the quadricep.
The forearms/hands, lowerleg/feet have had no work done on them yet(In this pic anyway), in my working model the forarms have been shortened slightly and hands have been redefined.
The characters also isn't a traditional 7.5 head scale, it has more heroic proportions closer to 8.5 heads in height and going to nearly 4 heads from side to side. We've also been told to 'define' the muscles as much as we can before then working them down.

Trapezius, shoulder blade area looks odd down to the buttocks. Elbow area looks as if its carved out. very small forehead with the armpits riding up the back of the body. Groin is too defined and the upper leg muscles look like armour but like you said its not worked down.

One of the hardest subjects to sculpt seen as we all look at it all day. To me its not feeling right at the moment.

I agree with the elbow, it is sticking out abit, but with your arms out straight, flexed, your tricep does cause a dip around the elbow, but yeah its abit strong, it will be worked down.
In terms of the back muscles though I disagree, the Trapezius does have a dip where the seventh vertabrae sticks out, which is further exacerbated when your arms a held out. In a really defined back to the infraspinatus fascia throws the lower part of the Trapezius closer to the spine, the Fascia also sets itself further out over the Teres minor/major muscles which form the armpit.
The quad looks like armour? A defined quad is HUGE :D

All said it's still a work in progress, that pic shows about 90-120 mins work, I've done some more since but I'll post it later in the week one I've done some more to.

Which ever way you talk about it a lot of the muscles don't look right as they are. The quads aren't working into the leg so the look like armour sat on top of the leg. You might see a defined quad of that size on a body builder but not compared to his other features. Hero sized drawings will have a balance throughout the body.

The problem you're going to have with this is anyone can critique it as it's the human form and it will take 1000s of re workings to perfect it. We all look at this everyday. It's the easiest thing to say it doesn't look right, I can't do it and I try over and over.

It's much better than my first zbrush full human sculpt but it's not quite near the level of your drawings right now.

Either the body and thighs need to be reduced or the arms and calvess need to be increased.

Thats a lot of weight for someone with such thin calves.

In my humble opinion. :p

Did another two animal paintings to go with the one I did earlier at the bottom.

The penguin is a little rushed, the edges I'll touch up when I get home - but averaged about 30mins on each one.

Elmarko

I think they are quite nice but next time you need to watch that composition with working on the negative space style. To me the zebra and cheetah are akwardly placed on the canvas. It's almost they got to the edge and then tried to squeeze them in. The zebra feels as if it's landed on the snout. I would either fit them all on or concentrate on one area so zebra could be done as if its a texture/pattern but actually its a painting of a zebra.

A good point, I slightly mis-judged the positioning when I did the initial sketch,

The zebra's mouth actually folds around the canvas (if you look at it from the height it's meant to be at you can see the full mouth.

I'll have to take a little longer than the 30mins I think, need to learn to take my time :) - thanks for the critique, that's why I'm here.

SANTORUM DECLARES OBAMA CONCEPT OF PAIN IN HUMAN FORM
After already accusing Obama of being an immigrant, a communist and likening him to Hitler, Rick Santorum has caused more headlines by claiming that the president is in fact the physical embodiment of all misery, "like a cloud, containing all possible malady from the intensest pain to the slightest discontent, floating the halls of the White House, infesting all that it touches, providing large bailouts to Wall Street banks"

And for a project called Soulmates, whereby you take a singles ad and make an A3 portrait piece elaborating on the information they give. I found naming the people to be helpful so I have Bert, Bella and Gillian :p

Bella,
Engagingly quirky artist, tall, slim, blonde, 49 and beautiful, loves bird watching, curious to meet very attractive, kind, finny, successful and free spirited bird brains 42-45, Mids
