Hi guys,

Have found a lot of information on the web regarding the below matter, but just wanted some clarification on people who may be a bit more 'in the know'.

I'm not going to name the hotel, but we had a bit of a situation on an overnight stay in Liverpool. Two things happened, and i'll keep it short:

1) In the early hours of the morning, what seemed like security guards, five of them, came into our room without our permission and told us to leave. We said they had no right and they threatened to 'drag' us out. Is this invasion of our privacy? Surely this is not right?

The reason for this is that some trouble had started somewhere on the same floor, and because we had been seen entering the building around a similar time they 'assumed' we were the culprits. They had no evidence to back this up, instead they just intimidated us to try and admit to something we never did.

2) I have a pre-authorisation charge on my CC which i did not know anything about. I accepted one pre-auth, as a deposit, which i entered my PIN for - but there is an additional one which i was not informed of - surely this isn't legal? I'm guessing it has something to do with the trouble aforementioned, but they wouldn't even tell us what this trouble was.

Advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

our room = the room where me and 20 of my mates were sleeping off a 24 hour drink and drugs binge....

some trouble = the rooms, reception and dining are my mates trashed when they got back from their binge

no evidence = there was clear cut cctv

security staff = police

I wil certainly not be using the hotel you fail to name due to the terrible treatment they have given you, inconvenience caused and complete disrepect.

I want to know more about your circumstances also. You and the wife?
You and 10 other males all pilled up and being mongers?
If it was the latter then i doubt you will have much luck.
if it were the previous then name and shame cos thats not cricket old boy.

I can't recall ever staying in an Hotel in the UK that had 'security guards', let alone five of them?
