What film did you watch last night?

In Time - 3/5

Gotta say, I thought it was quite an entertaining film. Good concept, as others have said, but it could have done with more thought. Especially the latter half of film, which became some sort of chase movie.

There are too many films that have a good concept, that run out of steam and ideas, and end up going nowhere. This is one of those films. 3/5 might be a bit generous really, but I'm a sucker for sci-fi. :p

Real Steel - 8/10

It's a fighting movie and has you on the edge of your seat doing boxing moves, with a classic ending too.

I think Rocky 5 is good though so I'm probably not the most unbiased person to rate a fighting movie :p

Citizen Kane -8/10

First 25 minutes and I was feeling a bit underwhelmed, but it turned out to be a pretty good character story. I'm still unsure as to whether I like Kane or not, I think this is a good outcome! Although i certainly dislike old Kane :p

Tower Heist - 6.5/10, didn't find it funny at all apart from some of eddie murphy's parts, but I thought it was a pretty decent film overall regarding the plot.

Sitter - 6/10

Some funny bits dragged along by really unfunny slow bits. Looked like it was written by someone on work experience.

Hidden, Its a French/Austrian film from 2005 about a French TV personality who along with his family become the victim of a stalker type chap who delivers hand drawn pictures and several hour long videos of their property with them coming and doing. It was enjoyable if not a tad slow, one thing that I really liked was there was no music at all through out the film but it wasn't shot like a documentary, tension was therefore down to the character situation rather than implied by the backing track.

It won a best world cinema award at the time of its release but it was only average / good imho. The end was also a bit of an epic anti-climax to the point where we actually couldn't believe it was finishing when it did. One to watch if you can and have nothing else better to do and don't mind subtitles.

Men In Black II 9/10

A great film, can't wait for number 3!

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels 10/10

I watch this film far too much lol

The Experiment - 5/10 OK film. Stops abruptly.

Battle for Terra - 6/10 animated film not as polished as others but OK I guess.

Fantastic Mr Fox - 8.5/10 excellent film. Best of the weekend by some margin.

The A Team - 7/10 mindless good fun.

Saw VI - 2/10 poor - never really noticed how terrible the actress playing his wife is.

The Final Destination 3/10 poor - the set ups were amusing. Opening death scene very poor compared to the others.

I loved this film. It's directed by Michael Haneke who done Funny Games (and the US remake) and The White Ribbon. Both brilliant films.

There's one particular scene that is probably one of the most shocking scenes I've seen. So unexpected. Haneke is great at creating slow films so that he can quickly ramp up the shock in certain scenes.

The ending was strange but makes sense on multiple viewings.

Annoying. A while ago, IMDb said Scorsese was remaking it but now there's no trace of it. Hmm, it's still there but with no credits yet. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0967926/

Yeah I know the one, it shocked us also. I think it was because of the lack of the build up, the lack of any music and that the tension you are experiencing at that time is for Laurent.

Don't get me wrong, we did enjoy it, maybe its one that needs a few watches to fully appreciate it.

Tonight I will mainly be watching:

He's a weird director. If you haven't seen it, check out 'Funny Games'. He remade it himself using American actors (apart from Tim Roth and Naomi Watts doing American accents) and the two films are completely identical.

He doesn't seem to make films that you can enjoy. I can't explain it. I did enjoy 'Funny Games' but the cinema was pretty much empty by the end.

Really?

Be interesting to hear what films you consider to be 7/10 because that's what I'd rank it up there as, maybe even an 8 given DW and RR's combined performances.
