what ROM? Haven't noticed this on CM7, CM9, stock GB, stock ICS or Wanam9.7
 
On stock ICS if I type in *#0*# and go to 'sleep mode' then press the home button, it happens every single time. Is this the sign that something is going to go wrong with my display?

Yeah well I'm on Stock ICS. No one else noticing this effect? It seems to happen most when you lock the screen 3-4 times in a row and the display takes a little while longer to unlock, you'll get a screen for a split second with white lines going down the right side.

Yes got that too but I can only replicate it if I hit the power button like a mad man, None issue for me as far as I'm concerned.

Wouldn't have known about it if you didn't say are you actually looking for any fault you can? :p

Not white lines though here black lines. Just enjoy the phone & stop turning it on & off like a mad man :p

Just a heads-up to anyone thinking of installing the current wanamlite ICS ROM - the message app doesn't launch. Not a deal breaker for me, as I'm in-between phones and my old iphone is still the one I use for calls/texts, but it's not suitable for a daily driver imo :)
 
completely new to this... I have managed to root my SII (with much sweating and completely ****ing myself that I would muck it up and nearly had a heartattack when it didn't work the first time!)

SO how would I get CheckRom on my SII?

Are there any good tutorials out?

Simply flash the ROM zip (downloaded to internal memory) from clockwork recovery (volume up+home+power when off) - The flash instructions explain as well :)

While waiting for CheckROM I think I am going to flash that^ It has some AOSP apps and lockscreen so is more to my liking than the one I posted just a moment ago.

msg app doesn't work though, unless you use an alternative like goSMS.

It's in the thread comments, and I can confirm it on my current wanam install :)

Hmm seeing bug mentions in the thread, CBA with that any more. Back to waiting for CheckROM I guess :p
