Taken 2

oh no, the first one was bad enough! the bit where he arrives in France and then just to prove he was in France....... some dude rides by with a white and blue stripy top, and onions around his neck lol

The amount of people who walk past with baguettes is laughable too.

Oh this sounds like it could be absolutely terrible... That said she's pretty and the first one was ace so i'll watch it even if it sounds like total crap.

I'm a bit gutted that Christopher Nolan is focussing only on super hero movies at the moment. Whilst they are great, I'd much rather have a fresh new film.

Memento
Prestige
Inception

All awesome films
Insomnia and Following. :)

Shia LaBeouf could star in the reboot!

It saddens me that people rely on the sequel angle so much. I'm a bit gutted that Christopher Nolan is focussing only on super hero movies at the moment. Whilst they are great, I'd much rather have a fresh new film.

Very true. Too many reboots, too many sequels.

To be fair to Nolan, in between the Batman films, he did make The Prestige, then Inception.

Once Batman is finished, hopefully he can concentrate on making more individual films.

Hmm was actually looking forward to seeing this till I read the plot. Does sound rather lame. So unless Neeson has trained his daughter to fight like him, he's not got a hope in hell of her rescuing him.

Perhaps it's all part of a plan, though... Everyone hears that Kim is supposed to go and rescue her father, and everyone is thinking how ridiculous that would be. But meanwhile, the whole plan was for people to think that, but the actual plot would be everyone realising how ridiculous it is, and Kim gets killed or just fails at trying to save her dad.

Or maybe it's just a very small part of the plot. Who knows. Given how good the first was and that the sequel has the same writers and only the actual director has changed I have high hopes.... again as long as they dont go making it PG-13 to try and appeal to a larger audience

So here is a story.

So I kinda knew about this back the end of last year as the production crew were obviously scouting for places to film. They visited my apartment as they knew the building manager and wanted to film some stuff in our courtyard type area, and wanted to know if they could use our apartment too. They said it was for taken 2 (I hadn't seen the first), so I said OK and forgot all about it. January rolls around, and before I knew it my whole place had become a film set. Living out here, I see film sets all the time, and have been on various sets for a bunch of things, but having it in your apartment and all outdoor areas is very different.

So anyway, long story short, they filmed a whole bunch of scenes for this film at my place for 2 days. I'm not allowed to say exactly what they filmed at mine, as I signed my life away, however...those shots in the link were all taken outside my apartment on the first day, and the second day was a bunch of internal and external scenes during the afternoon and into the night.

Everyone was cool, sat and had a few cups of tea with Liam and got all Lost geek with Maggie. Was fun, but won't be letting people in to do it again for a while!

I have some pictures on my laptop somewhere, I will try and find them.

thinking about it a bit more, it sort of makes sense, if they follow a time line where taken 2 is based on the 4 yr gap from when taken was released.

after the first one she figures out how lame she was so asks her dad to teach her a bit of self defence, being a dad he takes it a bit further and puts her through proper training.....

i dont get why this film is so well admired. is it just because its like a cheap stephen segal film from the 80s ? bad but good for the over the top cheesy action and moments ?

should have just added it to the under siege series.

I was surpised how much I enjoyed the 1st movie - it wasn't a cheese fest like the segal movies. Neeson was scary in the role - there was no humour in the acting just pure determination and completely absorbing.
