5-6 of broken sleep. Typically I will go to bed around 12.00 then either the neighbours or a car driving down the road/people talking will wake me up around 12.30-1(about 4/7 nights of the week). I then get off to sleep around 1.30. If nothing wakes me up in the meantime the kids are up about 6ish.

But most of the time I'm up at least once between 1.30-6am, not sure if it's an external noise or I just wake up for no reason.

About 7 hours, I started last week so it's killing me slightly but manage to get to bed early as I hate being late.

It sometimes takes me 1-2 hours a night to fall asleep (into a dream) and that's on a good night. So, 11 hours total but only 9 or 10 is actual dreaming.

Does it take anyone else that long to fall asleep?

Some people sleep <4 hours a night. How do you operate :O!?

Usually around 7-11 for me. Being a student if I don't have work to do and I'm not in Uni i just won't set an alarm. So grateful I don't have sleeping problems after reading this thread.

It differs extremely, on average I guess 5-6 hrs, but it can be as little as 2-3 hours, or in extreme cases 12+ hrs.

Problems falling asleep and getting up, usually feel crap for half the week as every weekend my rythm goes forward, I sleep far too little tuesday to friday, then 3 days of extreme long sleeping ( today I woke up at 7pm despite going to bed around 3 or 4 am), and probs won't fall asleep till it's daylight again (:()

my job is ok, I can get away with less sleep if I wanted to. I try to sleep at 10 but due to several things stress etc I dont go to sleep until 12 and then I wake up at 7.

I really like to get more than 8 but while at Uni it's often somewhat less, perhaps averaging as little as 5 per night over a week. Just because I'm an extremely light sleeper so I need the house to be asleep before I have any chance of getting to sleep myself, as you can imagine that's not always very early!

People who can sleep though anything, I envy you and you should feel thankful of your ability!

Work nights generally between 5 and 6 hours (2am till 7ish generally)

Weekends (Friday and Saturday night) 12 hours sleep per night.

I normally get 6-8 hours to be up for Uni but I tend to find that i'm knackered by about 3pm. I really need about 10 hours to keep me going until the next time I sleep.

Also, who put 12+ hours? Do you have any spare time at all? :p

Guy I knew a few years back did hosting and HTML work for various businesses, he used to operate on a strict 3 hours a night from 3-6am as he'd be programming until then and then had to be up to run around hosting companies installing and looking after equipment etc.

He was always ill though, and looked like death warmed up a lot of the time. Tended to pop pro plus like skittles and live on red bull as well. Not something I would recommend at all.

Average about 5-6 in the week, then I sleep for 12+ hours over the weekends, then because I've gotten up at 1pm on a Sunday I can get "more for my money" on Monday because I've not actually been awake as long.
