premium rate phone line

If it's for a product or service you provide I think if you want to do a premium line tech support you really need to give other options, like Web chat tech support and e-mail tech support both as free options. More incentive to buy from you for free assistance, if I had the option of 2 places to buy similar products or services, 1 had free support and 1 only had the option of a premium rate line if I needed help, I'd obviously go for the 1 with free support.

As I said this is one (possible) aspect of my business plan.

Without further research I'm still not enirely sure which route I will take for this project
 
It costs £125 yearly to set up a preimum rate number through BT last time I checked.

You then choose a tarrif from 30p a call to £1.50. The less you charge the more % BT get out of each call minute so the 30p call they will take 15p while on a £1.50 call they will take 50p.

The above post of saying you reported me was designed to provoke an emotional response, no doubt by trying to get me angry or upset that you reported me. You've also done this to couple of other posters in this topic.

You have yourself "disrupted normal on-topic discussion" but of course the topic of conversion has changed to one of being on-topic about how this forum operates with posters, so could be argued it is now "on topic" due to the "natural" flow of discussion.

Of course by pointing out the above have I also been a "troll" by "disrupting the normal on-topic discussion" or is this how the flow of discussion has moved onto by discussing people's actions and motives on a forum?

Am I the only one who read that post in Rimmer's voice?! :p
 
OP, if you are planning on starting your own business, I seriously suggest you rethink and maybe improve on how you take onboard criticism. It's pretty childish how you keep running off to the moderation team and then coming back here to gloat about it.

Many people have already said in this thread that premium rate numbers are a bad idea unless that's the core of the business plan, in which case, there's a fairly high chance you will fail as you require huge startup fees in order to stay in te business.

If you would simply tell us what the business is we may be able to help you. Then you could save the drama about you cryin to mummy whenever something slightly off topic has been said ;)

Seriously. You seem far too immature to work in such an industry. How on earth are you supposed to be able to improve your business and provide a good quality service to customers if you can't accept and change faults with ideas? Your attitude boggles the mind.
 
I have always found it incredibly naff that OCUK has a premium rate number (0871 10p a min) for their SALES line! I suppose it's fair enough for a tech help line as they providing a service as such but if you are wanting to actually GIVE them money and business, they should not be using an 0871 number.
 
This guy sounds like he is really cut out for business. It sounds like such a Good plan, and all in a totally unsaturated market as well.
