As most of you guys may have heard by now, Matty has left the club.
In a nutshell, what happened was quite a few of our members including myself had some minor concerns. I thought I would try and address this by asking him to play a cm role for a while where with some time and effort he would be able to rectify these issues. As you guys know, one of the rules in this club is everyone needs to be flexible and learn to play more than one position. Matty unfortunately (which I can understand) does not enjoy to play any other position apart from ST. Was hoping this would not be the case, but after not enjoying the CM role and I know he does not like any defense roles he decided to leave and has created his own club now.
What we are trying to do here is to have a club where every single person is a team player. Whichever position you are in for that game, you do what is best for the team, you stay in formation, pass etc. If you are seen by many as not doing this, you will get many polite suggestions before any action is taken. Some will find this to be a bit harsh and think that we are taking it too seriously. I disagree. As long as we play as a team and everyone is enjoying, then you won't have any problems here.
Some have suggested this club is a little bit like Sad Pandas 2.0 which I also totally disagree with. Sad Pandas was a lot more strict, even I nearly got kicked a few times due to being so inconsistent.
We are a lot more relaxed team, as long as you stick with the rules outlined and are flexible with your position, you do what is best for team and not consistently trying skill moves and losing the ball etc, you will have a lot of fun here. This obviously the way I personally see it.
I am super surprised that just over halfway into our first season we have made top ten in the league. I think we are number 4 right now and have held number 1 position quite a few times. Once we get everything ironed out and everyone is happy with everyone, I think we have the potential to start going on long run of wins and start challenging for the title. Might have to be next month now as we have racked up a lot of losses this month. Hopefully we will have all issues solved and have a rock solid team for next months campaign
I have spoken with Matty and everything this fine between me and him. We will try and get some friendlies with his team and it will be fun having another team competing with us.
As jonney said, for the few who have left, the door is always open for you at the OCUK Elite club. lol.

We should try to improve our passing a bit (myself included). I think we always are looking to attack as soon as we have the ball, when instead we should be a bit more content and patient in possession.

Yea we should see if we can improve a bit. i think we just need to tweak our style of play a little. we dont wanna pass pass pass all the time though as i realized the best way we play is when we play a high tempo game of football

Yea pickle was awsome last night! me i was terrible upfront as i lacked goals but did create a few though! think im bets sitting just behind the front man! I cant lead the line myself as i lack the goals LOL.
Yea we could give 433 a go. what kind of variation of 433? 3 DM's? or two DM's and one CAM? I think the latter is best suited

Playing with two cm's and a cam can leave us short at times in midfield.
Where if we have three cm's it should provide more stability in midfield and perhaps more possession in that area.
Also playing with cam, sometimes the cam has to drop deep to receive the ball leaving us short upfront.
Just an idea.
I think the 5-2-1-2 can be a hindrance at times.

sup all. im trying to organise a rival match with matty/gimbo's team for this thursday. waiting to see if they will accept. maybe they are too scared to face us

From what i can tell the main problem our club has is consistency. When we play with 5-6-7 its pretty hard to get a game when we do its normally teams with gks who will only play us which makes things harder when we don't have one.
There also seems to be a lot of switching of positions. I am all for people playing different positions buuuut if the team is playing well and players are playing well in their current positions seems stupid to change it.
The main problem with the 5212 is you need a good cam to make it work you need a good all round player there. Some one who knows when to come deep and help the def and some one who knows when to join the attack and become the third striker. They also need to resist the temptation just to through ball it to the sts every chance they can.

Yeah, not been easy. Our form has taken a bit of a dip. Also lately we come up against all the top teams with more points than us. When we first created the team, it was easy getting win's, but now we get matched up against some decent teams.
We only lost 2-1 vs the top team in our league last night when i was playing, and that is us not on form. Once we sort things out, hopefully we can be more consistent.
You guys might look like you are going on a run of wins now, but as soon as you start getting up the table and are up against the higher teams you will find it's not as easy as you think
If you guys get matched and beat teams in the top 5 of the league you will be up here soon. This way we will get to play vs each other without even needing to arrange it. But jon is trying to arrange something anyway, hopefully that work's out so we can deflate your balloon. lol

If we don't pull our socks up, there is only going to be one winner in the 'battle of the tribes'

i think u be surprised how well we will/can perform on a rival match. i expect all of us to be fired up and ready to produce the goods on thursday!
