The cpu will need to feed the gpu and if your cpu is busy then the gpu is not going to get the work
I realise this but i never had a prob with both gpu and cpu running flat out with my 920.

Grtz Derv.
On another note, I have just stuck my 990x in my pc, replacing my old I7 920, now I have noticed that the more cpu units i run there more my gpu usage decreases, where as before i could run all cpus full bore with no detremental effects to the gpu, is there any way to solve this?
The easiest way around it is to use some thing like 'PriFinitty 64 BETA' ( other prorgrams are available) to set the affinity for GPU usage to a single core and have the remaining cores set to use CPU. I've got this running on both rigs and the loss of a CPU core is more than made up for by the GPU's being able to run flat out all the time.
Welcome back Tony. I was browing the 680s earlier and I'm sure four of them had your name on![]()
Damn, sounds like you've had a frustrating time of late Toxic :
I'll do the news for you tomorrow once I get back from my job induction![]()
If you are talking about the GTX 680 as "Kepler" then it might do to wait a bit, could be its GPGPU performance may not be up to scratch.
Well I've ordered one to test, should be here tommorow.
Like you Mr Biffa sah I to intend on testing the 680 - mine is set for delivery before 10am
Will test with a few units of FAH and post results.
Bearing in mind my 560 ti's (448 cores) were capable of 16k each oc'd - all three of which have now been sent to new homes.
Mine just arrivedNot bad for ordering it at 5 to 11pm last night
