Multiculturalism in England

Besides it's only as barbaric as killing a poor animal anyway without or with the islamic way of doing it.

So "humanly" killing an animal in a way that is either like going to sleep or so fast that your dead before you know what hit you is just as barbaric as slitting the animals throat and stringing it up while it bleeds out?

After reading the EDL thread i thought id add my own two cents and thought id make a new thread as it has little to do with the discussion going on in that thread.

I've been living in Asia for 6 months now and in Vientiane about 4. I don't follow Buddhism but I and every other foreigner here accepts that's the natives way of life. We all respect practices such as taking off our shoes before entering property not pointing our feet at people or at Buddha and many other customs. We don't all congregate in one place, one village or one bar and we respect that we are not natives and we don't try to push our views on other people.

Yet in England there are various community's that have been allowed to completely disrespect the native English man's way of life and take over whole parts of city's and create monopoly's on various trades/jobs.

This is not stood for here and there are various laws preventing it. Why has England got into such a state ? I can only see the UK going down hill.

Look at the average ex-pat in Spain. Drinks english beer, eats english food, sponges off the spainish system. Can't speak english. Hypocrite

Either way killing an animal is barbaric

OP raises good points, religions moaning we celebrate Christmas etc

Remember its only racist when a white person, insults another culture and not the other way round

To be fair, I don't think it is other religions moaning about government provisioned Christmas celebrations. It's the secular kill joys who for some reason can't get jobs in the private sector and so are free to make retarded decisions in councils etc.

Ahh, a Hobson's Choice. Sorry, not good enough. Justify to me why all meat in certain restaurants needs to be Halal?

Halal is cultural. Fine if you want to eat it so be.

If that's the case, if you are bothered vote against it with your wallet and don't eat there.

You have a choice where you can eat. If you don't want to have Halal then don't walk into somewhere that sells it or serves it :)

The choice isn't always obvious, e.g. some KFC restaurants are 100% halal. In the unlikely event of me actually wanting a KFC, my choice is to eat halal or somewhere else. This isn't good enough in a non-Muslim country.

Whe eat in KFC then anyway? No one has died from eating Halal

Theres nothing stating what a shop should and shouldn't sell.

And it really must be a shock for brits when they are in spain to see Spanish food. Cooked in a certain way. Or killed in a certain way

Accepting that not everyone is going to stop eating meat then surely if the option exists to kill the animal more humanely then that's the one we should be pursuing?

And please can you start editing your posts rather than quoting the same post multiple times with comments about slightly different aspects of it. Thank you.

But there is still the choice to go and eat at another generic fast food chicken outlet or alternatively to eat at a different fast food outlet entirely. If you absolutely must have KFC then your choice comes down to accepting you eat halal meat there or you don't eat it - it's still a choice and in a capitalist system KFC have apparently determined that it is in their businesses best interests to provide halal meat, there's no regulation forcing them into selling it, it's a free choice they have made to the (presumable) benefit of their business.
