Apple has offered to refund Australian customers who felt misled about the 4G capabilities of the exciting new iCon 3.

There are no 4G capabilities for the iCon 3 in Oz Land.

On its website, Apple does state that 4G LTE is only supported on selected networks in the US and Canada.

You have been warned - DON'T BUY AN iCon 3 AND EXPECT IT TO WORK :D

...not sure if serious?

I'm guessing the vast majority of people upgrading, aren't doing so for the 4G, more for the screen and the spec improvement, like me

Im not a fan of Apple, but 4G isnt really a deal breaker is it, we dont even have reliable 3G yet. It wont work over here either, 4G for the UK will most likely use different frequencies.

Except they do offer refunds  So what's the problem? They have agreed.

Australia's consumer watchdog found Apple had misled customers with its recent promotion of the new "iPad with WiFi + 4G"

Strange that, mine seems to work perfectly. I must be in the minority.

/thread.

Yeah - this is a user error more than anything. Buy 4G capable phone, in a country without any 4G support. D'oh.

The greater screen resolution certainly seems like a good reason; have you seen what David Hockney does with the iPad? I can't understand why Apple don't make more fuss about this aspect, it is fantastic :)

Hold on...so you say anyone who buys the new iPad is a sucker, but now you're going on about how fantastic the new screen is and the possibilities with it?

Is this real life?

The 4G Ipads work fine on a 3G network, so isnt really a problem is there
