I hope it doesnt take too long to come out, I really want to play it. But again I heard that it was just the name of Dota2 that was effected and not game development wise.

Yeah but the court proceedings don't end to April next year at the earliest if you look at the legal documentation. Court cases go on for many years. I've had two going on for the past three years that have only just finished up.

Well in that case if this does go on until then I am sure that I wont be as interested in it. I have tried a lot of times to get into the beta with no luck.

It won't go on that long, they're still working on it and releasing multiple patches per month while releasing new champions.

I'd say it's definitely coming out this year, it's near finished and I haven't encountered any bugs.

I absolutely hate it's community though. Full of ******** and jerks just like in LoL. I don't think it'll ever be a game for casual play unless you wanna lose a lot.

When you start the game up it gives you 3 options. The first one makes it so you're bunched up with the other noobs but it also cuts out most of the champions -_-

Hopefully i'll find a team or some friends to play with because I won't be playing long if I keep losing due to people arguing over jungle or which lane they want.

I tend to only play with my brother over coms lol but the rest of the time people spend most of their time typing and arguing if you get killed. This is LoL btw...I dont see why people take it so seriously.

If they want professional games then there should be like a sub forum/game match only allowing higher players.

Or is that one of the settings

I'm getting fed up of the community too. Not going to lie, it's the europeans that are the problem. Joined a game the other day and everyone on my team had over 300 won games and I didn't. They all just kept telling me to leave from the start and started standing in front of me etc. Guess who was the one carrying the team? In the end we lost because they were all too busy trying to tell me to leave when I was the only one putting up any fight. I only had 3 deaths, one of them was 1-11. All of them were russian.

Play on american servers, worse ping but they are a friendly bunch and US east isn't that bad.

Is there a way to change this option as I am fed up of playing with noobs now. I can't get a decent team to save my life.

I played one game where there were 4 carrys, 2 of which were hard carrys on the team and I pushed all the towers by my self as natures prophet and then the game after we had Riki, AM, huskar and another carry who I forget against a balanced team with people like DK, brood, SK, VS etc. I then saw Riki go mid with boots and just quit.

Well I come from a semi-pro FPS background which I played mainly with americans so I'm not optimistic about them being more polite and friendly. I'll give it a go later though.
Yea I hate the Ruskys who only seem to know how to call people noob in english every time you die.

There isn't a way to change your setting as far as I know. Yea I've had teams with full Carrys.

So what would you say is the best or balanced team? just so I know :)

oh and anyone who could invite players I would be greatful, just putting it out there AGAIN lmao

I did watch the final, which I thought was great...but Have stopped because I got sick of wanting to play it ha-ha and not getting anywhere

Just left yet another game. 3 people arguing over who gets to Jungle and then all 3 tried to do it leaving mid unguarded.

then after losing all mid towers they start to play properly but started bickering over feeding and crap then 2 people went AFK and I just thought **** it lol.

Well there is a difference between a balanced team in a public game and in a private game.

Private game you want:

1) An initiator like tide or sandking who can cause massive problems in team fights, tide more than any in my opinion.

2) A counter to their hard carry like a vengful spirit for example who can switch places with the enemy hero and thus bring them directly into the middle of your team and be stunlock killed also MOST IMPORTANTLY the support class can ward up the map and buy a courier.

3) If you plan to play the long game, i.e past 40min mark then you want a hard carry like anti mage (very overpowered and banned out of almost all private games) or perhaps something like riki.

4) If you aren't playing the long game then you want at least one semi carry. Now usually if you take sandking you will play him as a semi carry because he can do a lot more than just initiate. If you have an imitator-semicarry then you will most certainly have another semi carry. For example, bounty hunter might be considered a semi carry and can do serious damage mid game. Nightstalker is another semi carry who can also make it to late game carry if he's had a good game.

5) A pusher, this is absolutely crucial in coordinated games. A pusher can push a lane by them selves during team fights to really swing an advantage or when a full team is going up a lane make it a simple walk up to the tower. Examples of these are natures prophet, chen and enchantress.

Now chen has many many advantages, he can heal heroes and pull them out of trouble where as natures prophet can tp around the map and turn a 1v1 fight into a 2v1 in the blink of an eye. This makes him very dangerous and a smart enemy team will be wary of this at all times. He can also push one side and tp to the other side to push that after your team have just all walked to defend a tower. More often then not you will see a hard counter to him such as a bounty hunter who can stealth up and really bring the pain to natures prophet because if he sees you he can tp away.

Enchantress is a hard one to play but has a great deal of damage potential. Both enchantress and chen are aggressive pushers, where as natures prophet is more of a side lane pusher while the enemy team is distracted.

Now another one to note is venomancer, considered one of the most reliable heroes to have in a private team because his wards can really shut down an area. He makes a great support class and he can push with his wards. More often then not you will see either venomancer or chen picked first for a team but venomancer is not a straight pusher like chen or prophet.

Broodmother is a special kind of pusher and is very popular amongst pro games. She solos lanes better than any other hero and becomes a real problem late game if she is left to feed. With her spiderlings she can push an entire lane exceptionally fast.

6) Finally, a disabler/support. Shadow shaman is probably the single best disabler in the game and CM makes another brilliant one, who is perhaps the best support hero in the game overall. There are numerous support heroes you can pick and many others who are dual class heroes, in fact most are. For example, chen is a support pusher but can be mixed with another support hero also. You never take two support heroes however, for example you don't see a CM and VS on the same team. AA also makes for a great support hero in team games. Most importantly of course is that support heroes MUST BUY WARDS AND COURIER. My god, if I see another support hero try and spec for damage at the start of a game I'm going to throw my self off a bridge.

Now in public games you can't go on any of this. More often then not you won't have a support hero and any initiator is useless because the team won't function properly without voice communication and half of them won't be english anyway if it's a european server so blinking in with tide and pulling his incredible ulti will be a waste and tide will go down almost every time as a result.

When it comes to public games, pick classes which can 1 on 1 enemy heroes or a support class because no one else will pick a support class if you don't. For example, if you take AM or invoker and stay away from the enemy ganks long enough you'll steam roll the other team without the need of any support because they won't coordinate to bring you down before it's too late.

Another good choice is to pick stealthed semi-carrys like bounty hunter. You will be able to walk around the map invisible because no one will buy sentry wards and you can literally gank anyone who isn't in a group of 4 or 5.

If you join a game full of semi carrys on your team the chances are you will win. If you join a game of hard carrys on your team you will lose because the semi carrys will gank them.

if ur interested watch some great matches at joindota.com really good streams

I have recommended them to a fair few people. Really good shoutcasts but I would argue that if you don't know anything about the heroes then it's kinda hard to follow.

Wow thanks for all that info, I watch them videos on youtube that goes into depth with the moves.

You got me excited again about this. Just need to find others to play with because me and my bro play together on LoL all the time. Just get let down by other members pugging.

I had to make some edits because some of the syntax was pretty awful haha. I too am trying to get together a team, I have a few friends who will get dota 2 but not all of them will be very good. My suggestion to people is to learn to play all the heroes but specialise in 3/4. If you don't play all the heroes you won't learn their weaknesses. Every hero that might be considered more powerful than others has a counter to it that can shut it down.

For example, anti mage may be powerful late game but if you keep denying him his farm he will never reach his potential and will spend most of the game outside of the team fights, making it 4v5 for you. Furthermore, if you silence him and then stun him he can't blink away and his spell shield cannot block pure damage so a hero like outworld destroyer can decimate him with his 200-300 pure damage auto attack and slardars powerful stuns and hits will tear AM apart if he doesn't have the farm to get decent items.

Unfortunately it is rare that you cant a competent team able to perform such simple tasks as not feeding the enemy hard carry. If you watch pro games on join dota you will see how effectively a team can shut down the strongest of heroes to prevent late game dominance. Usually the most effective way is to get prophet or chen and push the towers. It's hard to farm when you don't have your t1/t2 towers and can be ganked easily in the jungle.
