T-Mobile increasing contract prices (by just below RPI, making it 'legal')

I don't understand why people think that increasing something once a year in line with inflation is "dirty crap"?

A lot of wages don't even go up with inflation... Ask the majority of public sector workers. Also a lot of people (myself included) where under the impression that if I sign a contract for 24 months at £20, it will stay £20.

Expected after the Orange move a few months back.

I think it's wrong to move peoples bills after signing up to a contract. I don't think they should get away with it.

Surely people should be able to cancel under the words of 'I never signed up for that xx bill I signed up for xxx bill'.

PS where I work (public sector) wages are frozen unless you move into a new job. No wage increase for the next 2 years.

That's pretty crappy on the part of the government then; even when I was stacking shelves the union went nuts if we didn't get a pay rise in line with inflation.

This I can understand.

I would like to point out it's not just T-Mobile that're doing this though. Obviously Orange started it, but Vodafone have also done it to me as well. £30 to £31.

Got my letter yesterday, I have to say when someone wants to charge me more than I originally agree to pay I expect grovelling and reasons rivalling Neville Chamberlain's for kicking off WWII not smug douche-bags reminding me how scummy and underhanded companies are with their small print. I'll be cancelling my contract with them when it comes to the end in December. I have a long memory t-mobile -_-.

Not heard anything about this on my full monty plan, I'd be annoyed if they make that thing any more expensive!

56p increase foe mr? Not too bad. Still on a Sim only deal. Got 4 months left including this month, then i can switch. Wana join 3 :D

Letter came today, they have increased mine by £3-ish...no real big deal as i only have a few mths left then im leaving Tmobile and going elsewhere.

just received mine today, not impressed to say the least, underhanded tactics by them and others. been with them nigh on 10 years now, can't see them getting anymore.

Mine has gone up by about £1.50, not anything to worry about in itself but given that they have tried changing data allowance and have reduced the speed I can get I am not paying extra for less.

They will get a month of the higher price and then I will be leaving. When I spoke to confirm my final date the moron on the phone actually claimed t-mobile were 'obligated to increase prices due to the government increasing the retail price index'!

Holy **** I hope this isn't another one. Just logged into my account to be greeted with this message.

From 9 May 2012 we're changing some of our prices. This means the price of your monthly plan will rise by 3.7%. We know that price rises are never great news, but we're still committed to giving you the best service and network possible. The price rise will only affect the amount you pay each month for your plan. All other charges that aren't included in your allowance will stay the same. To find out more about the price change and to see exactly how it will affect you, go to t-mobile.co.uk/newprices.
