MGS HD Collection on Xbox worth playing??

Does a bear **** in the woods? Get it on Playstation if you have one, the controls are far more suited to the Dual Shock 3 than they are the 360 controller in my opinion.
It's only "extended dull/chronically boring" if you don't enjoy the story, and if you don't enjoy the story then there's no point playing the game in the first place seeing as they are all very heavily story driven games and not quick 15 minute here and there action games. To say there's better games out there about MGS2 and 3 is just sacrilegious, they are timeless classics and two of the best videogames ever produced, agreed almost unanimously by the gaming press and gamers alike. Just as Peace Walker was voted one of, if not the single best game on the PSP.

^ Agreed. But the collection is still great on 360 ( I have it on 360 )
Its more than an upscale too, And considering I dont own a PSP so have never had the pleasure of playing peace walker, that alone was enough for me to buy it

no it isn't. you're right about the story which is hilariously camp and indeed contributed to me not being able to tolerate the game, MGS was marketing hype spectacular and not much else. I am the only one who fell about laughing at the 'big momma' character? the fun of MGS isn't the weird story, many people complained about the cutscenes, some bits of the game are fun, and some levels are quite impressive.

The story was very poor, ultimately made to cater to the tastes of Japanese comic book fiends, in western eyes you cannot deny that it looks absurdly camp, however some of the game itself is quite decent MGS 2,3 and 4 had some decent levels. The 15 minute pointless cut sequences were what i couldn't stand.
To the OP i would go for the splinter Cell trilogy more fun, better story and playable in 3d.

kdd just seems more a fan of realistic gaming.
MGS is most definately anime in gaming form. And its story is extremely fictitious. but the way you're coming across in this thread makes you sound completely intolerable to people who do actually like the game.
Splinter Cell is only better to those who prefer it, I for 1 didn't like it one bit. hitman was great though.... Metal gear solid in my opinion is fantastic.

Incidentally i would hardly say that MGS ever typified Anime, MGS barely progressed through the sequels, the poor standard of story and dialogue was present in all the games, MGS is just dated in all respects, if you had said assasins creed for example then i would have agreed that the story carried the game, MGS was just so poor and offensively bad story wise in comaprison to how other franchises were evolving. Battlefield Bad Company, a spin off of the FPS genre was light years ahead of MGS in incorporating character and story into a game. It had character and IRONY also, something which MGS does not have and was hilariously camp as a result. MGS's story was so vulgar it made me want to vomit!!!!

MGS has no humour also, except for poor toilet humour, which isn't funny.
To say i dislike the reactionary turd that was MGS 4 and it's accompanying hype is understatement. thank god EA and Ubisoft released some decent games at the time, imagine the nightmare if every game recieved the Kojima treatment!

Wish more games made an effort in creating a story and sticking to it like msg. From the 1st to the 4th the story is what carries the game. i feel you are just baiting people into a reaction, trolling like they say.
