Well this looks awesome!.. Asus Eee Transformer Tablet

Damn mine has started to randomly switching itself off, it doesn't reboot so I'm guessing its a fault.

Sorry, the 3 pin plug part. The cable itself is fine.
The writing that says the ampage and such on the label on mine is so faint I can't really make it out clearly :/

Any usb plug will work - look on ebay for a 5V - 2A usb plug - a good quality one is from a HP touchpad. don't buy a cheap and nasty one.

hp - pricey http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Intern...Adaptors_SM&hash=item4cffa2bd99#ht_500wt_1156 . I got mine for £10

cheaper here - http://www.amazon.co.uk/HP-TouchPad-International-Travel-Kit/dp/B0058CZX7U/ref=pd_cp_ce_0

Generic - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/APPLE-10W...ccessories&hash=item43ae18356a#ht_1614wt_1396

5v is no good for the TF. It's too low.

Hmm - the OEM charger is 12/15V - never knew that, thought they were all 5V but higher amps.

I'm pretty sure it will still charge from a 5V charger (10W) as the TF can charge from a PC USB output which is 5V (though only 2.5W).

Since you have the device - have you tested it?

Charging over USB is ill advised at this point since it'll take somewhere over 16 hours to fully charge the Eee Pad over a standard USB port. ASUS claims this will be fixed with a future software update. I didn't have the time to measure exactly how long a full charge over USB would take; I just measured long enough to know it would be a problem.

No, never plugged it into a PC at all. Never needed to, and I just assumed it wouldn't charge because of the voltage difference.

A longer charge time makes sense, with the lower power output of the USB port. Good to know it's possible though.

I've signed up to Twitter to let them know what I think. They probably couldn't care less, but this tablet is useless to me like this. I don't know why they didn't just roll back to the previous version that was fine.

Hopefully someone will release a Tegra3 tablet soon to rival the TF. I won't be buying Asus again..........except maybe the odd GPU. :p

Over reaction much? Why not just root it back to honeycomb if it bothers you that much?

After having it for a few weeks its a bad tablet imo, I can see why people go with Ipad's now.

Mine behaves better as I have a custom rom on it but its still not great, will be selling for sure and get a Ipad 3.

Why is it a bad tablet?
What doesn't it do?

(For what it's worth I'm a little bit on your side but you need to give reasons)

So you think it's OK that Asus forced out an update that breaks a 400 quid tablet, and I should spend my own time fixing it? Should I pop round and make them a cup of tea as well? In all seriousness, this is why people buy ipads. Can you imagine the furore if Apple did something like this! It wouldn't happen.

The TF is no good to me like it is. All Asus need to do is roll them back to the version before the update a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, we all make mistakes but just leaving it as it is and doing nothing just shows a complete disregard for it's customers. It's this kind of scenario that tends to reveal how good a company is at supporting it's products, and it isn't the first time that I've experienced how poor Asus can be.
