The taxpayers benefit from not having to pay towards their lifelong confinement.
Why do we kill animals that we deem unfit to live? Sick cats and dogs, or ones which attack humans?

Its the repeat offending burglars and twoc's and council tax dogers. That the courts seem to let off that I dont want to pay for. You get caught breaking into my house 10yrs sonny (If I havn't killed you) Lets see if you want to risk another 10 when you get out.
Even if he isn't rehabilitated he can only re offend (get caught re-offending) so many times before he's too old.
Also lets have the 3 strike rule
I was joking about council tax dodgers. I was threatened with prison many moons ago because I hadn't paid my council tax. I didnt sign on instead searched for work and sold almost everything I owned in order not to sign on. I prioritised food over council tax and nearly ended up in prison. Got told to take a bag to court with me. Luckily a family member paid it off for me.
You've changed your argument again. As I've said before I support the death penalty in principle, but not as revenge, not as pleasure.
We don't torture or kill cats and dogs for pleasure, we shouldn't do it to humans either.

Fair point. And I suppose that leaving them in prison for the rest of their lives is key to that.
I think leaving someone in prison for the rest of their life is cruel, and a waste of taxpayers money. You can't let someone be in a bare cell for the rest of their life, but if you do let them have a semi-normal life in prison then it lessens the deterrent.
That's why I support the death penalty in principle, but at this present moment I don't trust our justice system enough to consent to the state killing. I do realise the irony that the state is in effect killing other people by spending money on prisons that could be going into cancer research etc.
I believe the point of basic human rights is that everybody has them. As soon as you jump onto the slippery slope of taking them away from people then you're well on the way to a totalitarian state. Basic human rights have to apply to everybody, always, without exception or revocation.
So just leave murderers and rapists to go free to carry on murdering and raping?

You seem to love them and want to give them a free room paid on taxpayers money with a TV and pool table for the rest of their lives, believing that everyone one will be rehabilitated.
