MGS HD Collection on Xbox worth playing??

if every game recieved the Kojima treatment!

I'd probably play more games.

I very much am not, please don't make personal attacks because I am expressing my opinion. it is YOU who is doing the trolling.

Do you even know what trolling is? You keep on trying to justify your opinions by talking trash about MGS. You know fans of the series are going to post. You are the one doing the trolling.

No i'm expressing an opinion, typical troll insults...

Incidentally an academic in the US criticised the story of MGS stating that the homoerotic themes of the story were prejudicial. MGS sucks, out of here.

Don't care.

Why are you continuing your hate on MGS? No one cares that you don't like the games.

The OP asked if they were worth playing.

What part in any of my posts have I insulted you?

I went into game shortly after mgs was released and there was an entire stand filled with preowned copies of MGS 4, all the guy behind the counter said was "it's **** isn't it" He said they had recieved about 500 refunds/trade ins in a month and his area manager said many retailers were angry that sony had provided such a poor game after so much was spent on hype. Apparently there is a landfill somewhere with about 1 million copies of MGS 4 in it.

MGS has no humour also, except for poor toilet humour, which isn't funny.

I take it you haven't bothered playing MGS3, or at least you haven't bothered paying attention to the dialogue. The chatter that you get from Para-Medic is hilarious at times, especially when they discuss old movies. You just don't have any taste.

I played all the MGS's on Playstation. I have always loved the story and I dont particularly the Japanese art direction aka big swords and mech warrior but I have no problem with MGS. Some of them will look pretty dated. Also if you dont like long cutscenes avoid at all costs.
FF

okay, Kdd, this is the first time I've seen you post on this level. You really are trolling. I dont care if you dont see it. every one else in this thread does. Hopefully you're drunk or just your heavy dislike for MGS is causing you to lead some sort of pathetic typed vendetta.

Seriously, this thread would have been better had you not entered it.

no it isn't. you're right about the story which is hilariously camp and indeed contributed to me not being able to tolerate the game, MGS was marketing hype spectacular and not much else. I am the only one who fell about laughing at the 'big momma' character? the fun of MGS isn't the weird story, many people complained about the cutscenes, some bits of the game are fun, and some levels are quite impressive.

I smell a philistine.

Perhaps someone will be kind enough to find out where this fantasy landfill is so we can throw you on there too.

Back on topic, yes it's well worth playing. I've just last night finished my MGS 1-4 marathon, starting with MGS on PS1, then 2-4 on PS3. Utterly superb games, the characters are great, the atmosphere is superb and the attention to detail in all of them is immense. Make good use of the codec too, there's hours and hours of codec conversations to listen to by being in certain areas, near certain things, equipping various items etc.

If you ever do get a chance to play MGS4 in the future then do so, it's superb. It's perhaps not quite as 'true' to the MGS formula as the previous games, but it does introduce some quite cool new elements and some of the areas are massive with quite a lot of exploring to do. My final playtime for MGS4 this time round was 32 hours, so that just goes to show how much you can get out of it.

Incidentally i would hardly say that MGS ever typified Anime, MGS barely progressed through the sequels, the poor standard of story and dialogue was present in all the games, MGS is just dated in all respects, if you had said assasins creed for example then i would have agreed that the story carried the game, MGS was just so poor and offensively bad story wise in comaprison to how other franchises were evolving. Battlefield Bad Company, a spin off of the FPS genre was light years ahead of MGS in incorporating character and story into a game. It had character and IRONY also, something which MGS does not have and was hilariously camp as a result. MGS's story was so vulgar it made me want to vomit!!!!

LOL

Those fantastic story driven Splinter Cell and Bad Company games, I wish every game had such fantastic character development as the Bad Company games. :D

Every single Splinter Cell game is basically terrorists have kidnapped someone or have a WMD and you have to stop them, the story doesn't even deviate from this at all, it is poor and the emphasis is on the stealth/action and cool gadgets, not on the thread bare plot. As for comparing Bad Company to MGS I find that completely laughable. The single player of Bad Company and Bad Company 2 is nothing more than a tacked on training mode for the multiplayer.

Making your comrades all complete dumbasses and failures is not incorporating character and story into a game, much less does it make that game "light years" ahead of a series which has an epic story spanning over 4 huge main games as well as Peace Walker. If you think the story in either of the two games you mentioned is better from a technical point of view rather than your own personal preference then you must be very easily pleased.

I bet you watch trash like The Expendables and rate it over films like The Godfather.

I cant believe anybody would compare the MGS series to assassin's creed and say AC has the better story....AC, as much as i love the series, has virtually no story whatsoever and it's clear they are making it up as they go and milking it for all it's worth. AC's story telling as got worse and worse with each release and it's clear it's not on the same level as MGS.

Mgs is poor, and your trolling is also. You have a problem if you can't deal with opinions that conflict with your own without resorting to childish behaviour. Grow up the lot of you.
