This has been my experience lately too. I play well, usually about 2:1 KD with nice gold farm but there's only so much you can do when either playing against a stack or with complete morons.

I don't get how it's happened. I'm usually way over 2:1 KD and I was playing so many good games in a row with decent teams. I switched my servers to US east to try and get teams that spoke English and all of a sudden it's like my skill rank has been reset and i'm playing with first timers again.

Can you change the key you need to press? I had a quick search through key-bindings while I was dead but I couldn't find anything.

I heard someone say it could be changed to right clicking but I am unsure as to how. Have you turned off auto attacking? I found it to be handy to have it off, also you can stall your animation by hitting s, can make last hitting easier.

I just had a game and won again. Nice when you are not on the team full of noobs, it helps. Managed to get quite a few kills this time because the others were risking it too much. Enjoying razor. Only died 3 times and got I think it was 8 assists. The most fun part was getting the sniper lady to chase me when I had 200hp, she was full. Then I got near tower and said better try killing her before her snipe cooldown is finished. So I did all my special moves and with the aid of the towers and grunts I got the kill and survived. Was satisfying that. I felt like typing "n00b" but i kept it to myself :p

Here is what I get at the start: 4 branches, some tango, and some salve. Keeps me in battle without needing to come home for some time :)

Then after that I tend to buy things I fancy. I like the item 2k i think it is that gives you 10+ on all attributes. Also there is one that is boots that makes you really fast. The other one I like is I think it was 4k, it makes attack more and attack speed a lot more, so once i get that, money starts pouring in due to so many last hits :D

Not watched or read to much as of yet. But I think I am doing ok. Much better than my first 2 games where I had little clue. lol. Now to watch a few razor vids and item ones. That way won't be super noob anymore.

btw sorry Kam for yesterday. A mate ended up coming down so I could not play. But no plans as such today, so hopefully will finally get some games with you.

One thing I do enjoy is banter with the other team. Not agressive or abusive though. Like yesterday when my team might as well have been AFk I managed to pick up an invis rune and gank one of the enemies in my base killing the barracks and typed "How do you feel about that?" and their team went on a man hunt chasing me around the map trying to exact revenge.

That isn't a bad start up. Generally people only get 3 branches because that goes into a wand but the extra branch still gives you stats for 53 gold so it's not that bad. You could also spend 50g on getting clarity instead. Sometimes being able to get that extra 100mana is crucial to saving your self.

Watch purge plays razor, it's probably pretty useful for you.

Ah right, I dont know if it was a kid I was playing with the other day but he/she was f'ing and blinding calling everyone who did something against him (he was on the other team) I dont like people who abuse the chat, I also miss clicked a spell while I was faceless void and froze us around some creeps and they where going to report me :|

Me and my mates where like 'wtf is their problem' I apologised for doing it and nothing bad came of it. We didnt get ganked or anything. Just froze for about 5 secs lol.

Welcome to dota. When ever I play prophet and acidently circle someone with my 5 second root I just laugh it off. Sometimes I manage to circle my self with an enemy in with me and just type something funny while I get auto attacked down.

Void does have just a horrible root though. He pops it and you just sit there watching him slowly grind you down. When ever you play him it's always best to run aaway from each other when he comes in close because you know he's gonna pop it as soon as he can generally in low skill games.

I did enjoy playing him but I did only play him on my second game ever of dota lol. I may have to try him again. What kind of playstyle do I go with. Am I more of a support but rooting people or more aggresivly. I know I picked the wrong items but still we won with him so I must have done somthing right. If not my team just carried me :D

Are you playing against bots or people? Generally I would suggest people play vs bots first but really it's for you to judge. When I was learning the heroes I would play 1 game vs bots with a hero just to get the feel for it and the last hitting power down.

As for void, well first things first he is a hard carry. So you should really not be including your self in team fights all too often, you certainly don't want to be roaming. You want to find a lane and keep working on farming for items. Your ability to freeze a whole team is very powerful but you need the items to be able to do the damage to them while they are frozen.

As far as playstyle during team fights goes you want to let other people engage and wait on the edge for the moment to blink in and pop your ulti if possible. Obviously though you can't wait too long or your team may have died first, it's something you just gotta learn. I don't really play with void but he probably is quite fun to learn.

Item wize, you may want to consider picking up an early stout shield if you find you are getting harassed too much so you can stay in lane longer.

Suddenly I have been coming up against much tougher opposition. They either have 1 or two pros gong around killing everyone because they are 10 levels ahead, or a team where 3-4 of them constantly ganking using cloak :(

Tried another hero and found it much harder. Going to try Ursa next. That hero was hitting hard in the last game I was in. 3-4 hits and people would be dead. Granted the guy was quite a few levels ahead.

I take it that you are enjoying your time with dota 2 then?? I should be on tonight mind which should be fun. A friend is up from London so he can sit and watch me :D

Yeah, had 4-5 games today, as did not get to play yesterday. Going to play some more when I get back in soon before handing it over to you tonight :)

Ursa is a powerful Pub scrub hero. Won't see him in competitive play but against poorly organised teams he is very powerful.

Also, dust is your friend when it comes to invis heroes and wards are key to knowing when your opponents are coming to gank you, cloaked or not.

Probably a long shot but does anyone have a spare key for this? Used to play LoL quite a bit with Tals and the other guys but work atm means I dont get on so much. Would love to try Dota 2 over the easter break :)

i didnt really get into DOTA yet but thn again i have only played a game...i am goin to give it a chance and think like i have never played a game like it haha...i think i need to play a few games like before making my final jugment. i will kick clart off and he can tell me wat to do haha :D :P x

Well I had a few games with kamwah last night, didn't do too bad mind but still lost. I was natures Prophet lol trapped myself in my trees one, that didn't end well but still did ok with him. Gonna try out queen of pain tonight I think lol.

Dru I think you will enjoy it more if you play with me nd kamwah we had a right laugh last night.

Queen of Pain is awesome hero, very versatile in the way you can build he too and pump out damage.

Also feel free to add me, only got one mate to play with and he is going through his SC2 obsession again ATM :p. Steam=Purdy8

I'd love to know the number of games won/lost based on wards, it is staggering how the supports in pub don't realise how important they are, even just rune control is pretty important.

yeh i played egnigma last night fort he was ok....it is taking me a while to get used to the shop i think that is goin to take me a while to get used to but once i have marstered that i think i will manage the game well. i am going to sort my steam account out tonight so i can have ago more instead of taking over my brothers pc haha :D

I played with Kamwah yesterday too. First game the other team had 2 disconnects so we left. Then we was doing ok, then suddenly Kamwah disappeared. I waited for a while but things got a bit hard and I realised Kam not coming back so I left. Waited a while longer then had to go myself.

But for the short time we did play it was fun. Can't remember which hero Kam had, but when we was in same lane he took most of the last kills. Was particularly hard to get last hits with ursa. But I enjoyed playing with ursa. The claw is nice to chomp down an hero quickly. Hero's like razor don't have a special that does that much damage. Razor's one might do more damage overall by area, but ursa concentrates to one target and does more damage to it enabling one to get more kills easily :)
