Sounds like a right lol that situation!

I've just had a bike replaced under warranty from a kona snapping. Customer paid very little to just get a full bike rather than just a new frame. They did offer a new frame(the top level one) FOC but it would hace cost him a new wheel, headset and front mech so he just went a little bit more and got a full new bike with brand new warranty attached.

That's about the best thing you can do!! ^^^^ I **** Campag UT chainsets.

Just a quick update, i spoke to my mate today and he actually called Giant himself this afternoon because he was sick of the shop not returning his calls. It turns out they had sent a replacement frame to the shop on on the 22/02/12! he took the bike in the first week of Feb i think it was, but anyway, they have had the bloody thing back for over a month! its really weird, the shop never return the calls and the manager is never there when he calls up. Hes going mental now heh! anyway it makes me glad i bought a Boardman, Halfords have some bad service sometimes, but this is another level!

Hummm both situations seem similar. I can imagine how annoying it is for him. Such a pain when people don't ring back.

Sounds like either a miss understanding or they tried too pull a fast one by charging him for a frame Giant had given them for free.

If you can do 21km easily then you'll most likely be able to do a 70km ride, however I would imagine you'll be pretty knackered at the end. If you have time, try to do a 50km ride at the weekend and see how you get on. If you struggle then you know the 70km ride is going to be a "world of pain", as you put it.

Going to have a crack at a longer distance probably Saturday morning depending on the weather, get out before it gets too hot.

I am on the super fast improvement curve at the minute since I have only just started riding really, cracking personal best times almost every ride.

Saw a lot of other riders out tonight, everyones training for the event I think!

What the hell is wrong with people?

Was behind a guy for ~600m on my way back from work today who went through 3 red lights in that period. They weren't even quiet pedestrian-only crossings, but for crossing traffic and heavy rush-hour pedestrians.

Caught up with him properly after the 3rd red light and 'confronted' him (I say confronted, I was cycling alongside). Conversation went something like:

Me: You just went through 3 red lights
Him: Thanks for letting me know
Me: I assume you know that's illegal then?
Him: Uhuh

Trouble is he wasn't even a youngster/hipster/casual rider. He was late 40s/early 50s, lycra clad with leggings, hi-vis jacket and a hump backpack cover. What the hell is wrong with people, and what's the point in all that hi-vis if you're just going to skip reds and dodge pedestrians and cars?

Rage!

Not worth bothering with those people, they're never going to see the error of their ways and you'll likely get a mouthful of abuse. One day natural selection will catch up with them though.

Maybe this is just me been paranoid,But does anyone else feel daft when waiting at red lights on a push bike?...and your waiting for ages for the lights to change? :D

Especially when theres other cyclists about ride past you "On the pavement" i might add. :D,They look at you like why is he waiting like a car,I know they are in the wrong but still.... :D

Saying that i hardly see cyclists use the road around my area, they are usually on the pavement and i don't know why because all our local roads are more than wide enough.

A little bit but then your doing the right thing by waiting.

I had some idiot on the way to work yesterday do exactly the same thing Russinating described, skipped 3 red lights and jumped the kerb as well. I just made a point of catching him up each time.

I love Silly Commuter Racing. :D

Not bike related at all, but I'm not a big GD poster so I thought I'd let you all know that my wife had our second son yesterday. It was a bit of a shock, as we were told at our last scan 4 months ago that we were having a girl!

Cue much frantic name finding. I suggested George (obviously) but my wife (perhaps rightly) said no! :)

8lbs 7oz and in fine health. Definitely has sprinter's legs!
