The idea being that it's the companies car not yours so could go to anybody next if you get an upgrade or leave, so they won't allow you to smoke in it.

That and you could have colleagues in your car who shouldnt be subjected to 2nd hand smoke.

*bangs head against wall*

that is not the f30. That is his own f10 5 series. he was saying the f30 looks very similar to the f10.

Aha - ok.

In that case same comment applies to different car. I always preferred the facelifted E60 anyway so I'm clearly a bit odd like that!

yep the smoking thing is a tax disc holder and is already removed for a better one.

And it is indeed tesco hinckley!

Regarding speccing a car - i spend a LOT of time in my car, so i wanted the things i enjoy. The extravagance was the stereo, but its worth it. The wheels were a compromise, not too much to hurt, but better than standard. The rest were cosmseitc or comfort based.

The red line can be removed, but its in the sticthing, so otherwise may look a bit weird witrhout it.

I also agree the bonnet grill gap is unsightly, and screaming to be fixed - but whats the option, have a passat instead? :p

I think for most people it's more of a commentary on the design, rather than a reason that they would absolutely not drive that car :p. Certainly for me this is the case...I like the car very much and would absolutely own one, but no car is perfect.

I completely agree that the stereo is a very important upgrade target for a company car. Anything that will improve your ownership enjoyment during those long motorway plods is worth it in my eyes.

Regarding "The wheels were a compromise, not too much to hurt, but better than standard. The rest were cosmseitc or comfort based." - wheels aren't cosmetic then? What were they for, increased grip around the service station car park? :p

The wheel comment was that cosmetically the 19s were what I wanted, but these were a reasonable compromise (someone earlier said they wouldn't waste money on company wheels)

The passat comment was in jest; I've owned a passat, an A3, A4 and Alfa 159 Ti - I wanted a different car and despite some peculiarities (screen & bonnet shut) I'm chuffed :)

I don't mind feedback, positive or negative, it doesn't interfere with my ownership, if my posts have suggested otherwise then my bad.

Nice car, I'm hoping to jump on the F30 later in the year when the M Sport has come out, I think the bodykit helps the looks a little. Inside is superb, love it!

I also think the stereo is #1 on the extras list :)

Amen brother!

And as expected mines been pushed back another week, it's a month over due and the Scirocco goes back tomorrow. (sniff sniff, I love that car!).

Those xenons must be a bugger to fix. :D

I like the new 3 personally. I quite like the interior here with the red line, bit different. Wouldn't go for white myself but I know it is popular right now. Enjoy it.

Here's the blue version! Looks ok I suppose, potentially a bit distracting but then how distracting can a blue line be, and at least it's different.

I personally like MM screens that are hidden in the dash and that pop out when required. Makes it all look neater and the dash lines cleaner.

The interior does look a tad... cluttered, which is a shame. It's otherwise pretty nice though although I cannot for the life of me think why they didn't put a bit more effort in with the plastic either side of the centre console, its really scratchy and cheap.

That is an insanely cluttered interior - they've done very well not to let it look completely pants. Like the exterior though, that's what happens when the corporate look is increasingly applied across the ranges.
