Liverpool Sack Comolli

Kenny picked the players. Comolli blew the cash on them.

From Dan Roan's Twitter, Kenny's reaction to the sacking.

He's been really helpful in every transfer target we've gone for.

Everyone who has come into the club since Damien has been here was of my choice. Once I made the choice who I wanted. Damien went away and did a fantastic job of bringing them in. It's sad to see anyone leave the club and he goes with my best wishes.
Surely KD must take all the responsibility if they lose against us on Saturday or if we finish in 7th at the end of the season. NESV can obviously be annoyed by the amount of money that's been wasted, but the talent on the pitch hasn't been utilised at all and that's the managers problem... or will Steve Clarke just get the boot? :D

FSG were never given a good explanation as to why last summer's transfer policy at #LFC contradicted what they initially wanted.

If its true, then I imagine that Kenny will be stepping down at the seasons end as well, but it would be un-necessary to disrupt the team further with so few (and one/two important) games to go.

Its all down to the money! Carroll, Henderson and Downing would be good signings (for squad or future) at half the cost.

You are joking right?

This season is still a massive failure in the league regardless of what happens.

FSG/NESV have said (and shown) how ruthless they are with their will to win.

I think they will look to swiftly turn things around.

the fact they want a written report from Kenny at the end of the season shows their intent.

so glad we have owners that are like this.

I think he'll be asked to move aside and probably end up as DoF. He understands the club, he knows what we want but he's not able to give us that in from managerial position anymore.

I can see it happening too.

Megalols if Liverpool somehow lure Mourinho. Offer him another spending splurge, for the lulz.

---

Moving Dalglish to a DoF role would be stupid - just kick him out, give him some bull**** ambassadorial role.

DoF is a ******** role it would seem.

As for Mourinho, wouldn't happen. He said he'd managed pretty much all the top 7/8 except us and couldn't say why.

Won't happen. He doesn't want to fight for honours, he wants a project that offers him unlimited resources and just needs a lick of paint to be successful. He'll either go back to Chelsea or to City. They're the only two clubs who have a realistic chance of beating United while Fergie's there.

My favourite moment around Comolli was actually on these boards. After news came in last summer that we were signing Seb Coates, someone piped up with "we just need the picture of Coates next to Comolli and his paedo grin", followed immediately with the picture :p

Why cause any sort of unsettlememt before Saturday? What an absolutely thick decision.

No idea who had more say on the transfers but there is more than one fall guy here.

Does he have any affect on current 1st team squad? (no doubt he chooses / helps choose future players etc)

Not sure it will make that much difference to Sat imo (sure if it was Kenny or a coach , you would have a valid point)

well, although most footballer's are a bit thick. i'm sure even carroll can come up with the connection here ''hang on, they''ve just sacked the bloke whose job it was to identify signings, one of which was me ......... i scored on tuesday too''
