There is a special weapon towards the end of the game called the icefall hammer, which has a chance of freezing the target (much like the dismantlers chance of shock), and requires a mace skill of 14.
Its still not as good as the dismantler but perhaps better than the ancient axe which I didn't use, does that have any special ability? (Fire? / Earth?)
With the group I have atm, my sword fighter is the least used.
Will see how it plays out on the last few levels (just about to start the last 3).
TBH, I'd say my two fighters were both less used than my mage (air/ice) and rogue (daggers from the back-row).
However, the difference in experience told its own story when comparing my sword and axe fighter one to the other: my swordmaster was about 5000 ahead, just because my axe-wielder missed much more frequently - and with the long cool-down the mobs were often dead without him getting a hit.
Which puzzle was this?
Iron Door on level 7 or the switches on multiple columns on level 6/7?
My unarmed fighter is on 117k xp, sword fighter 110k xp
Back row is higher 140k xp, 120k xp for my two xbow/bow rogues although first has that +20% xp neck.
Ahhh, unarmed? Ok, that's different. I was comparing swords to axes, but tbh I have no experience of unarmed.
On a basic level, of course, exp distribution is a reflection merely of the combination speed and accuracy (whether you hit mobs before they die) - but not damage per hit or dps.
My axe fighter hit less often (much less often due to lower accuracy and longer cool-down), but she also didn't do that much more damage when she did hit to offset this penalty.
So, basically axes aren't worth speccing IME. Not compared to swords anyway (or a dagger rogue, to compare another melee option).
I can't really comment on unarmed. Your xp suggests it's hitting more often (but I guess I'd expect that given its speed) - but how is it for damage?
I'd be curious to know if it outperforms swords on average in terms of dps (my highest dps was my dagger rogue easily I reckon).
I've not really compared damage, but with unarmed I was hitting pretty fast and it would occasionally crit for over 300dmg. Stat wise finished on 63 attack power / 59 accuracy. Although that was a minotaur with 5 skulls (+15 attack power).
My two xbow / bow chars at the back where annihilating everything, I actually had to limit their use in order to get some hits in with the front chars lol
YAY I completed it![]()
Would i play it again, **** no
...
Also - is it that quick to finish? I don't pretend to be quick at puzzles but if people are finishing it this fast it can't be long.

This was the annoying one. Secret 9 onGamebanshee guide
And the other one (can't remember level) was three gargoyles heads with a sequence of projectiles you had to block. Not as frustrating as the above time sensitive puzzle, and reminded me of Rock Band style game
