Legend of Grimrock - Dungeon Master Fan's !

Which items buff fire? I've only found a staff which buffs Earth, which still seems pretty rubbish.

Zhandul's Orb buffs fire.
its on level nine behind the iron door, you need a bone ammulete from early in the game to open it

Yeah, I've just got it. 100+ damage from a fireball = awesome :D

I'm looking forwards to doing this again to be honest, now I vaguely know what I'm doing I can set the team up properly. No Earth magic for a start...

Finally finished it. :D Great little thing at the end. Died a few times there. :P

I've been combing levels pretty strictly, but I missed three secrets apparently. God knows how I'm going to find them. :p

I wonder how long it will take for other dungeons / adventures to be made...

I did thoroughly enjoy Legend of Grimrock, although I don't think its as good as my favourite Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos. Just the story elements and charm of that game were fantastic.

A remake of that would be amazing.

Possibly because you've been living in Guild Wars for the past three years :)

Not true, I have all the other great indie RPGs too.

“The development costs of the game have now been covered many times over so the future of the company seems pretty secure. So, everyone who has bought our game and supported us, you have our gratitude!”

Until EA buy them out that is. :p

Just in case you missed it bhavv, there is a great resource for Grimrock here

Although its only worth using if your really really stuck. ;)

I have had to rely to that walkthrough / hint page more times that I would have liked to and I'm only on level four. Without those hints I would have given up on this game. Whilst I do enjoy it I do find that I get frustrated at some of the puzzles. As long as the balance is on the side of enjoyment I will continue but I very much doubt that it has much replay value for me, in its vanilla form.

I suppose it must be hard to get the balance level right for everyone. Personally I had less than a handfull of problems throughout the game.

3rd Iron door I thought was a nasty one (at least I think it was the 3rd), hard for anyone to get that. But at least it was optional, first run through I just skipped it. Another was a vague riddle one later on, unfortunately that one was required to progress.

I did manage to do the first three levels without help (except for one teleporting puzzle on level 3), but with reloading often.
It has been the start of the fourth level that stumped me a little with what is facing you. Then I have come to an impasse at knowing how to continue once I go past that point and killed pretty much everything I found. I might take another peep at that page.

I also just accepted a default party and didn't think much about the implications of levelling up.
Then I have been a fat pig in earlier levels and now I'm starving.!

One area on level 9 is the only place I've gotten completely stuck so far. I can't remember where I found the 'clue' for it, but it was obviously far enough away that I didn't connect the two at all.

I think I've left two iron doors unlocked so far, and one of those was because I couldn't be arsed with the speed thing and didn't have the ingredients for speed potions.

Didn't need speed potions for that bit and also turning off any torches helps
