Just what is the correct number of slices of bacon that should be used in a bacon sarnie? Also what type of bacon, sauces, salad bits, etc?

Bread
Butter
As much bacon as you have readily available
Butter
Bread

No need for sauce nonsense, unless you have cheap, nasty bacon.

Thin, medium or thick bread? I feel this is an important factor as the thicker the slice, its gonna be harder to get the sandwhich in your gob;)

4 allows for a 2X2 lattice style covering. 5 would leave an imbalance and we wouldn't want that...

So cook more than 5 then? Once you hit the optimum bacon to bread taste ratio (i.e. you can only taste the bacon) then it won't matter if you have an odd amount on there.

SALAD??? No, salad has no place on a bacon butty! (this includes tomato sauce!) lol

Med white bread, min 3 slices, little bit of brown!

Cant go wrong with a little bit of brown... :D

3... arranged in alternating top to tail formation so it covers the most surface area with gaps. If any uncovered bread remain, cover with blob of sauce.

I want to say 4-6, but I'm a poor student so can usually only afford to have one piece wrapped in bread, or two if I'm pushing it. :(
