Just done a youtube video showing the beta running at 7680x1440 with one 7970 overclocked. Runs very smooth:

Just to let you know, you don't have to constantly click to move wherever you want. All you need to do is click and hold, and drag the cursor in the direction you want to move.

This is not a dig at people playing with multi monitor set-ups, but does anyone else think they're... not very good? Personal preference, obviously, but I couldn't stand to play a game split across screens, especially 3 widescreen ones. The reason I ask is because I only ever see praise for it, and no one ever says they don't like it. Maybe it's just me xD ? Multi-monitor is great, don't get me wrong -- especially for separating watching a video or web browsing from another task, but I just can't see how splitting a game across a few monitors is superior to playing on one large, seamless screen.

The balance of ranged weapons seems really off so I'm wondering if theres a bit more to it later on. Ok, so the pistol bows are Demon Hunter only and the regular 2-handed ones are for everyone, but in the beta the highest damage 2-handed bow I found had a dps around 12, but I came across several pistol bows with dps exceeding 15.

Coop was difficult to say as far as difficulty increase went. Played through with order as Barb and Demon Hunter and we came across some fairly tough enemies, particularly bosses, but others seemed easier (even solo). The final boss was a really easy fight (though we did have fairly good weapons I think by then). It spent most of its time stunned so didn't get chance to really fight back.

Aye, it's a noticeable jump up in health of enemies, still not much of a challenge on normal yet though, never any risk of wiping.

Looking forward to the harder difficulties though. :) Co-op is definitely more fun than solo.

You have to use one to appreciate it :)

Regarding difficulty, I was a bit worried as well - as a diablo veteran since d1 it was so easy that its safe to say I could finish the beta naked.

However, watching this video from blizzard seems to put my mind at ease.
It looks like the whole normal difficulty is just a 'preparation' for the real game.

Seriously why is Advanced Tooltips not the default state? And instead putting an option for concise tooltips? The default descriptions are almost useless, giving you no real indication of the damage you're inflicting.

And the error 3004s are starting to get on my nerves. Luckily I was only killing time until dinner ><

D2 was never exactly a chore on normal. :p

Normal on D3 will be the same, a difficulty for everyone to enjoy the story on before the real game starts! :D

I am not saying it was hard but still a lot harder than d3, think about it, that first zombie boss in the cave was taking 1/2-1/3 of your hp with 1 hit, so did the raven girl.

So far in D3 the only time I even had to use potion was when playing wizard first time and when I got to the 4 pillar thing quest I didnt notice that you have to actually destroy the pillars so I was mashing away those skeletons for 2minutes till I got 3 full screens of them shooting on me :D.

Do remember that DII came out 12 years ago and DI 16 years ago (jesus christ), chance are you've gotten a little better since then.

Someone made a good point earlier in this thread iirc, that D2 was more about chugging potions whereas d3 is more about a combo of potions and health globes.

^ is some footage from hell I think, after diamond skin drops the wizards hp drops hard. :)

I have got a 3x24" Surround setup with GTX 480 SLI but I don't think I'll be using it for this...

It's only good on games where you can put all the UI in the middle imo. Having the chat far left and the map far right would annoy me.

well maxed out a barb (level 13) after a few play throughs and messed about with crafting.

now all i have to do is wait 3 weeks to play it properly :S

I've really enjoyed the beta. Just a shame release is so far away :(

Not sure which class I like most. The witch doctor is quite savage when you get some of the pets but the barb is surprisingly fun to play.

Considering it was announced in 2008, I'd say it isn't really that long to wait now! ;)

I see I can download the beta client from my battle-net account (download games page), cant recall having it enabled before. Does this mean I can play the beta? or should I be checking elsewhere to check for a code or something to see if I can play?

Strangely I don't have that, I just have "Pre-purchase Diablo III now!" under "Your Game Accounts". Maybe you got into the proper beta?

Well after trying all the classes in the open beta I'm still no closer to figuring out which one to play on release. Level 13 is quite limiting and it means missing out on some of the core stuff for different classes, like mantras for monk, so it is hard to tell what the classes will be like later in the game.

I do have some questions though, since weapon speed = casting speed, does that mean some weapon combinations are useless? for example a demon hunter has attacks that refill one of this pools, and this is a static number, so the faster you use the ability the faster it goes up. making slower firing but harder hitting weapons which could have the same overall DPS be much worse off due to less regeneration of the rage pool or whatever it's called. And another opposite would be monk, where it has a spinning staff attack that ignores unit collision, so could using an ultra slow weapon mean each 'tick' of dmg takes longer to do and so you can stay running and using that attack for longer ?
