played abit over the weekend while it seems to tick the right boxes it seems to be missing that X factor when compared to Diablo 2 or even Borderlands.

Also seem bit too zoomed in for my liking and i hope the game world/environments are big otherwise they going to get old quick as they along with the monster placement don't seem to be randomized or just very little.

My D3 folder fully installed is only 3.82 GB. I'm not sure why the installed size seems to vary so greatly from person to person.

well I did have a lot of problems when downloading, did a lot of copy/pasting between 2 PC's on XP first because it got stuck on the updating file screen when I tryed to resume the download then I moved my 'progress' onto my win 7 boot and started playing after the 2 GB then when they shut down the server on saturday I let it download the rest so maybe this did the extra filesize

What versions are those of you with >4GB using? perhaps some of us are using the US client, some EU (I forget which one I'm using). Both can connect to the US servers but perhaps the US client is significantly smaller due to lack of translations (although I don't think that would account for ~1 GB of extra data that some seem to have).

Anyone had any issues pre-ordering from Battlenet? Im trying to pay using my barclays Visa debit card but every time it just comes up with "There has been an error processing your request".

maybe blizzard are just trolling people who's ISP likes to traffic cap after 3 GB so they throw an extra 1 GB in just to rub salt in the wounds :)

its a conspiracy!!!

why order from BNET? its £44.99 on there, you can get it much cheaper elsewhere

Isn't it like £44 on battlenet though? Why not just buy a boxed copy which are around £27, yes you'll need to wait for the box with the key to show up to play but for all future installs you'll still be able to download the client from your battlenet account.

The EU client is 3.82GB whereas the US client is 4.76GB. I know this because I installed both of the clients before I knew that there was the option to change what servers you connect to in the settings.

The culprit is the Data_D3 folder:

E: Dug around inside the folders a bit and the US client has ~3 times as many patch files for some reason.

My pc doesnt have a CD drive and as far as im aware there isnt anywhere else to digitally download it from?

You could buy the box, add the key to your account then download it without using the disc at all. Yes you'll have to wait a little longer but I guess its whether the money saved is worth that wait to you.

You can download the client from BattleNet irrespective of where you bought your key from.

Once it's registered to your account you can just login and select the Region/Client download.

Hell, I added my ORIGINAL Starcraft CD-Keys and was able to download the client.

Oh ok fair play.
