Vertex 2e borked, what now?

Can you elaborate on this?
How were you able to detect the drive?
I also have another drive with winxp on in the machine, although that isn't working now lol

The Corsair is coming tomorrow :)

Can't remember too well but think it would be detected and then not detected via my xp drive, kept having to restart the pc and clear the cmos. I'm not 100% certain. I may have had to use a linux bootable cd thingy. I do remember it being hard work

It didn't help that the sata connector plastic bit on the xp hdd was broken and so I had to hold the data cable in place....this was the whole reason I replaced it in the first place.

Thanks for replying.
Will plug the vertex back in when I get the new drive up and running.

The Corsair arrived this evening, and I am in the process of setting it up.
But at least it is detected so thats a start :)
Have updated motherboard bios ver 2303 (p8p67 asus), and I think I need to update the ssd firmware, but can't for the life of me find out what firmware it has come with already!
Anyone know?

Have the corsair drive up and running (post from it now).
Seem to have quicker reaction time than the vertex, but could be me.

Already has 1.3.3 firmware on it which is a bonus.
Have got hibernate turned on!
The computer is set to sleep after 30mins, good or bad?
Any other important things I should be doing?
Thanks.
