It's like a drop-in system where you can open your single player game up to the public or invite a friend. You can also use the matchmaking system.

I read that you can't join games that are ahead of your characters storyline progress, i'm not sure if that was just a rumour or it's true. Sounds plausible.

You can join them, just can't do the boss i think*

don't know for sure. i had my lv 13 running around with lv 1's but couldnt get to the skelly king.
 
Is there any kind of character balancing? I'm just wondering if I have a higher level toon than my mate will it down-grade me a la GW2? i do like that mechanic, it seems preferable to being overwhelmingly stronger.
 
Been playing the beta some more recently, still enjoying the Demon Hunter the most so plan to roll that first. Playthroughs on all of the characters brought me to this conclusion anyway.

I played the Witch Doctor for the first time recently and once I had the triple darts and the upgraded grabbing hands thing I was rocking with it, thoroughly enjoyable character after all.

Barb looks like it will be good with much better gear, but that was true in D2 as well, very gear based class if I recall.

Sorc was good fun too and with teleport, will probably be a good farming class as always.

In fact all of the classes had their good points, will probably at least start one of each and I can pass hand-me-downs to them as I go. Will see if any of my good friends are playing so I might start a co-op only char to keep pace with them without falling behind or rushing ahead whilst I play my other chars.

pretty much my conclusions as well.

it's a shame that no game will ever again have a similar class to the paladin, or in most cases the "hammerdin" god i loved that...with the right gear it was THE BEST hands down, if you disagree then you are noob! :p

You can join together but the game will go to the point of the least progressed character so if you join your friend who just started a game at level 1, you will have to go from start with him even if youre lvl 40.
 
Anyone else preordered through Amazon? I have booked 15th off work and really hope it arrives day before/morning. Anyone preordered from them before and know what they are like?

I did couple of years ago and it was fine, did this time as well, either way I will be at work on the 15th so couldn't care more -_-.

Also who on earth would make a female barb? so ugly :D

In fact some of the other classes seem to favour certain sexes as well. Male Barc, Female Demon Hunter, and clearly Russian Male Monk is where it's at.

I think the WD and Mage can get away with either, but the female mage is better in my opinion.

I'm tempted to wait until the morning of May 15th to pick up my copy, but as I want the Collectors edition, I hope that I am able to get it from Game. The last collectors edition I went to get from them was out of stock, just an hour after opening the store.

Yes, two strikes of Deadly reach/Fists of Thunder and one of Crippling wave triggers the final effects of crippling wave (i.e. daze). Likewise 2x crippling wave/deadly reach + 1x fists of thunder gives you the aoe strike of fot as the final part of the combo. Also works if you use 3 different generators in succession. It also now gives reason to the combination strike passive you unlock at 50.
