I would totally drop either way of 100 fists or fists of thunder and pick up serenity, I think the 4 second immunity, or group immunity will be invaluable.

Sudden assault vs several sided strike is probably going to depend on the weapon you're using. One with everything is also obviously going to depend on you having one resist stacked on your gear which is possible, just a case of actually getting it.

Seems solid though, just really offensive.

Edit - Lashing tail kick may actually be better than 7 sided strike with that setup, as you will have a massive glut of spirit with no real spender.

Edit 2 - Second thought, you could just spam the mantras activated ability.

The 3 spirit generators are there for a reason. Open with Breath of Heaven on a companion, then thunder fist as 1st hit to port me to target, way of hundred fists as second hit (increased to 10 blows via rune) and finally finish off with deadly reach that increases damage done by 18%. Hit mantra of conviction. You now have a massive (1.16*1.15*1.18*1.48*1.24) damage bonus that you can apply to 7 sided strike.

And you've just spent all your cooldowns and discipline in 10seconds to kill 7 monsters that you could kill in the same time with just auto attacking.

But I guess it makes you feel more epic that way.

I think you mean spirit? :)

Discipline is one of the resources used by Demon Hunters.

Hell no, i think max was 75 on D2, and made you feel epicly epic.

in D3 i think the max you will have out at once will be around 5.

Meh, you never did have that many though. I think my high level solo necro MM with decent gear had something like 13-14 skeletons with around 6 skeletal mages (purely from 1 point +skills). Revive was a total waste of space and in all honesty, so were the skeletal mages (bar the cold one but that was just tedious). Can't remmeber how mages/revive scaled with level but I think a rough max of 50 is probably a fair bet. Realistically you wouldn't use more than 20-25.

And lets face it, the skeletons were totally broken.

Revives were great in some situations, like I didn't have good gear at all when I played a necro, so when I went against uber diablo having some revived ogres made a huge difference thanks to their crushing blow which would just own bosses without needing any gear at all (although it does require the preparation to go somewhere and get those mobs revived in the first place).

Problem with the revives is the dumb AI they were given. They don't follow you like normal minions and tend to wander around aimlessly in the area you revive them, very rarely following you at all. I never fought Uber Diablo so wouldn't know but Hell Baal the Skeletons were more than enough for him, albeit slow as hell. Other than Crushing Blow I imagine there really wasn't any point in the revives at all. They never seemed to have particularly good damage either.

You are trading 8% damage - (probably less) against complete immunity 20% of the time.

Edit - the second strike of fists of thunder also has an implicit 1.45 attack speed bonus, so unless way of the 100 fists is faster, it is definitely less.

I am really looking forward to the Gargantuan as a WD, some of the runes you can use with him look savage, I also like the idea of bursting your zombie dogs into flames.

Going to be good times and complete lack of sleep :p

that's why you wear enigma or something else with teleport, teleport them around with you, get 50 odd revives and skeletons all balled up and hitting the same target :D

Less what? Less than 8% damage loss? Erm...second strike of FoT would be 110% weapon damage, second strike of 100 fists goes from 7 to 10 blows so a 42% damage increase to the 140% of weapon damage 100 fists already does. I really don't see how throwing 100 fists out wouldn't result in a higher than 8% damage loss.
You're also throwing your assumptions in vacuum. If I'm in coop chances are someone else may have a peel (usually the person that specced their character for tanking/control rather than pure dps). If I'm solo, the companions have rather effective peels as well. Obviously until we get into inferno, nobody will be able to tell how well builds perform. Plus they already announced a balancing patch right after release so chances are all the calculations may change.
There's also one other question with regards to Serenity - depending on how high the dodge cap is (and what the dexterity -> dodge conversion is), the immunity will have diminishing returns as dodge in its very nature means you negate damage received.

The WD skills do look great!

Im having a really hard time deciding between WD/Wizard & Demon Hunter as my 1st char

The inventory is massive compared to before anyway so its not like you're heading back every 5 minutes. Its only annoying early on before you get the town portal scroll so can't head back at a moments notice.

Did they get rid of that portable stuff destroyer?
