New Samsung S23A700D 120Hz

My dvi is middle screen. I have mini dp adapters on the other two. I do keep getting the mini dp errors. All are plugged into the top 7950 in my set up. Its a nightmare to get running right this. I'm just glad I enjoy tinkering :p

Haha same with me, my Sadomasochism really helps when it come to PCs!

I've had them a few weeks now and its all been very disheartening tbh but when they do work they are amazing. How are your framerates with the two 7950s and what drivers are you on? I'm sticking with 12.3 for now.

I think its basically a sync problem I seem to be having with my DVI connected monitor and I think its whatever is causing that Display Port error message as when I quit game the message is on the desktop.

I'm not sure but I think I read somewhere all monitors need to be connected the same way ie; all Mini-DP or all DVI for smooth compatibility.

I am on 12.4 officials. As far as frame rates go.... I haven't really spent enough time on the same game to notice. All have seemed ok so far. I will get some real world figures next time I get chance. :D

edit: Just had a play on the campaign on BF3 - wow :D That makes it all worth while!!

Yep, just package it up, speak to RMA department, get an RMA and send back to us and we shall replace and send a new one out. Also if you ask RMA guy nicely to pre-pixel check for you before despatching the replacement.

Also just to inform you guys, the ones with dead pixels, don't go back into new stock, but back to Samsung. So no risk of getting used dead pixel ones. :)

I received my 700D yesterday and the box had been resealed I was suspicious but at first thought it may have been that the invoice had been put inside, but I took a few pictures just in case.

On opening the box there was no invoice and saw that the box had obviously been repacked.

The screen protector had a big square roughly cut out of the middle with scissors and the PSU wasn't even in a bag.
This is my 4Th Samsung monitor over the years so I am pretty familiar how Samsung pack their monitors and this is not it

I then saw it had a dead pixel ! (Looks green on the pictures but its actually white)

I am pretty disappointed with OCUK after the comment from Gibbo seems that they may be putting RMA/ Dead Pixel monitors back into stock ?

Or is this a one off ?

Do OCUK arrange for a collection of the screen since its clearly a dead pixel repack ?
I dont see why I should have to try and find a Courier to send it back when its a OCUK re-stocking error

Cheers

I got three of these - picked up today. No dead or stuck pixels as of yet. Monitors are lovely :)

And then.....

First time setting up eyefinity + using startech adapters + crossfire 7950's + crappy AMD drivers + stodgy tridef software* = one stressfull day!!

I have had monitors going out of focus, turning off, dropping to 60hz, swapping around. It's been a long day!

I think I now have it sorted and to be fair it's impressive. Really happy with it. Makes me wish I had bought 7970's instead though. :p

* I am sure if I spend some more time with it / read the instruction if there are any it will become more user friendly.

the boxes for the 3 x s23a700d i got from germany weren't resealed but they also didn't come with a uk power lead so i think what is happening here is samsung selling EU stock in the UK & opening the boxes to include a uk power lead.

by the way all 3 i bought from germany had stuck pixels 2 of them were exactly like your screen & one had red pixel, just contact RMA as gibbo said & they will sort you out. :)

I'm in work so not right now but it was as easy as - Google image search - set size only 5760 x 1080 - entered "wallpaper" in the search box and sifted through till I had a small collection.

Can link it when I get home. ;)

I have 3 of these - the "screen protector" is for the gloss black plastic bezel not the screen - hence the square missing (I have had various shiny things from Samsung recently :p ). Mine came as yours but I have no dead pixels. I would speak to CS before assuming the worst. They have said they will replace monitors with dead / stuck pixels.

I think this is far more likely.

Any advice regarding the NVIDIA hack for this monitor? Downloaded the 3D vision emulator but when it comes to 'enablestereo' I keep getting that installing the device driver failed :(

Only thing that stops me sending mine with the stuck pixel is the fact that I'm not sure I would be able to get it back in time to sort out the VAT back deal :(

Ok sounds good.

Ill get on the blower to OCUK tomorrow and see what we can sort out :D

I've been mulling over this today and I don't think I could accept it with the stuck pixel.... It would ruin the sanctuary of my shinny new PC.

Can I ask a question from all of our happy Samsung owners. Well two actually.

Do you get a HDMI cable in the box? AND DL - DVI cable?

Also, just how glossy is the screen? Is it distracting Glossy?

Yes you will have to send it back at your expense and then claim postage back because its an rma.
I sent mine back on monday and recieved new one on thursday and refunded postage a couple of days later:D excellent service.

If you use interlink direct you get £5 off you first delivery aswell but you will need a printer for the label.
