A Knight type character seems plausible but the rest of his skills could be awkward as holy warrior is clearly the Monks domain and it could be a little too similar to the Barb.

They could do a more 'Spartan' type character. Disciplined close quarters, but also ranged using spears and the like instead.

That goes without saying, they've mixed up everything with the classes, except the Barbarian since there really isn't much you can do there without making it not a barbarian. Comparing them doesn't really make sense but you can look for the influences and see whats left from those.

The only things that don't really exist in the D3 characters that was used by the D2 ones are shapeshifting and beast mastery, both used by the Druid (nature magic is a bit debatable), something focused on polearms/spears like the Amazons tree and something focused on more disciplined close quarters combat like you would've expected from the Paladin turned Knight.

Yeah, i would love to see a knight or a fast, lightly Armored pole/spear class

Thing is there isn't a limit to what they could come up with, and i hope we do have more than one expansion...

Aye a spartan/knight style character could be cool. Rallying shouts instead of the barbarians offensive ones would fit too. As I said though these are only based on whats left from D2 characters. Not saying they can't come up with new things.

Would be great if they ended up with 3 chars for each stat but what else do they have left? Weapon based melee combat starts to get far too similar to other things far too quickly and they've covered elemental and time/space magic along with life/death magic.

A proper pet class, where the main focus is on a single creature or two.

and not like the druid that used them like the witch doctor does now. if that makes sense. :p

i don't mind magic, melee or ranged as long as it's a fun class it's all good they just need a fresh idea which is hard to do these days, or at least a fresh take on a certain play style.

they could do a melee class that can change at will the elemental damage of his/her weapons and such

If you mean something like the Ranger from Guild Wars with his Beast Mastery I can't really see something like that working with the game mechanics.

As opposed to changing the element of the weapon rather they could actually fight with summoned weapons though hell if I know what the class would be called.

A class that could summon weapons would be pretty awesome, I dont think it would work mechanically though - since everything is based off of weapon damage it would be stranger than the monk is now.

Thought I'd reiterate some key points for anyone wanting to cash out on the RMAH:

1. Have mobile alerts set up on your battle.net account
2. Have a PayPal account as a payment method linked to your battle.net account
3. Choose to have any sale go to your PayPal account during the set up of any sale, as you can't decide afterwards

"If you’re auctioning your item in the real-money auction house, use the drop-down to choose how to receive the proceeds of your auction if it succeeds. Choosing Battle.net Balance will send the proceeds to Battle.net Balance on your Battle.net account, to be used on futurereal-money auction house purchases or select Blizzard Entertainment digital products on Battle.net. In certain regions, if a PayPal™ account is linked to your Battle.net account and you’ve enabled Mobile Alerts on your Battle.net account (see below), you can hve the proceeds sent to your PayPal account (a 15% transfer fee applies if you choose this method, calculated based on the amount being transferred). For further details, check out the FAQ.

Important: You can’t change which method to use once your auction has been ceated, so choose carefully!"

I was thinking more summoning weapons and controlling them by magic, not actually fighting with them in your hands. Using 'Essence' as power /topofmyhead you'd summon weapons to attack as any standard spell and you could use a conjured armour as a minion.

Its the only thing I can think of thats radically different to the other types of magic already covered.

Hold on, just to clarify - it's possible to make real money from this game? Depending on how lucky you are / how silly the market is, it's possible that you could essentially use the game as a source of income?

Item shops and gold sellers I've heard of, but I've never heard of a game that legally allows you to make real money from your fellow players without having to do anything but sit at your desk and play the game / auction house, so it's something I'm still trying to get my head around.

It's a concept that's been used for a fairly long time outside of the commercial arena. Entropia Universe has a very developed structure with real money value to things in the game, with some individuals owning real estate in the servers worth 100,000s of dollars/euros.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropia_universe

"The Entropia Universe entered the Guinness World Records Book in both 2004 and 2008 for the most expensive virtual world objects ever sold,[2] and in 2009, a virtual space station, a popular destination, sold for $330,000. This was then eclipsed in November 2010 when Jon Jacobs sold a virtual resort on Planet Calypso for $635,000"

Keep in mind that if it was possible to make some cash (i.e anything over a couple of hundred per month) there are so many basement dwellers out there that before long tons of people will be playing 16 hours a day so that they can make some cash from home, which would increase the supply of rare items, reducing their sale price, and thus reducing your monthly income from the game.

Has anyone ever pre ordered from amazon?, ive never pre ordered from them, hoping there will be no delays.

Amazon is about as good as they get tbh. They say they will get your order to you on time then they usually do. But I wouldn't say any retailer is ever 100% guaranteed to come through, even if they say they are.

Nope, not like GW. it's hard to explain what i mean but just think of a class where you have all your stats split into a big pool (pet) and a small small pool (the character) where you are dependant on the pet it would take a lot of work in a game such as diablo but i think it would be fresh for the dungeon crawler scene

I agree, even though they have never let me down. they are better than most though that's for sure

Still sounds fairly similar to GW in concept in that you have a constant 'follower' with you that would no doubt use some skills you told it to. Doesn't really sound like it could work in D3.

I want a proper stealth class as well.

How would that work, the game is about killing as many monsters as possible for their loot. It's like wanting missiles in Gran Turismo. :p

Amazon has never let me down when it comes to release day deliveries, in fact a couple of times I've received games a day earlier. They have the actual game in stock, and tend to start shipping a couple of days before retail release.
