What film did you watch last night?

Watched a few films through last night as I was up with toothache;

Where the Wild Things are - I liked the 'Wild Things' a lot but the film wasn't great, 5/10.

Red State - not bad but not great, felt like I was watching propaganda at times, 6/10.

Tresspass - not that great, some dodgy acting coming from the two main stars, 5/10.

Machine Gun Preacher - I wasn't expecting much from this film but it was very good I thought, based on a true story, 8/10.

The Rum Diary - was funny in parts but not as good as I had heard it was, 6/10.

After that I watched some Red Dwarf, which was brilliant as usual, 10/10. :p

Watched American Psycho, great acting by Bale, not sure what went on at the end though haha. 8/10

There is no catharsis. The film is left unresolved. With cold, uncomfortable, surreal detachment we are able to vicariously empathise with Bateman's own sense of delirious detachment, unpurged emotional tension, and his eventual complete apathy to it all and everything else. There is nothing to come to terms with.

Had the urge to watch Lord of the Rings last night, not the best film to stick on at 1am :p

Hasn't lost any of it's magic easy 10/10

Robin Hood (2010 version)

Bleh, the story was all over the place. Not really sure what was going on half the time. The action sequences weren't even that exciting!

5/10

Erm yeah, what he said... :D

Great film though. Brett Easton Ellis' books are even better!

I'd have skipped the films and just watched Red Dwarf from beginning to end :D Hope new series is worth the wait and not like "back to earth" mess.

I watched The Mist which is by the same director who also converted other Stephen King books like Shawshank and Green Mile

This is a fantastical story I read decades ago, it really is just a classic King story where he just enjoys a what if type scenario. It doesnt really relate to those other films which were more spun out and developed.

So I was really impressed by how well this movie takes it so far, I liked seeing it play out 'on the big screen' with all modern effects but I say that as a big fan of just about anything King writes.
More typical cinema pundits should probably only watch if stuck for anything else so 8/10 & 5/10 standardised :p

The plot sorta has a half life connection and there was an extra nasty plot change to the book given the nod by King too :( I will have to read it again now

The Sixth Sense.
