Microsoft SkyDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox?

I won't use Google Drive because everything you upload automatically becomes their property.

I believe Dropbox tried to do the same but quickly reversed the decision.

Totally depends what services you use or are likely to use.
Do you have an android phone? - go google

Dropbox is redudent, even though I currently use it.

I wouldn't go that far. I'm a huge android user and still prefer dropbox. Most Android apps that integrate with cloud storage do it with dropbox at the moment, not Drive.

I can still see Dropbox hanging around. Just look at the partnership they've got with the S3 - 50gb of free storage.

Google aren't going to integrate dropbox in at the OS level. They will follow iOS/win8 to get that functionality you'll have to use their service.

Use Dropbox but only because it came before Google Drive, I have 25gb Skydrive I didn't know I had but there's no Android app yet.

No but I do know that you can get a VPS for cheaper than these cloud services.

Sure, but that's not what everyone wants.

For one, you probably spend more on electricity running a server 24/7 than it does to pay £6 a year for Skydrive for example. Plus you can very easily share files with other non-computer savvy people.

I was in completely the same situation as you, but I have an iPhone which has an app. Another reason why I think I will probably change to SkyDrive!

Completely right, plus they all have security measures anyway. If that's a reason why you wouldn't.

Like what exactly? Google already store contacts, apps and settings in the cloud, so other than having it in the "share" menu along with Dropbox and Box.net, I don't know how else they could integrate it.

TBQF with my trust issues I'd never bother besides I've several 1-2 terabyte disks and a fire safe to put them in... so my stuff is safe, sound and most improtantly somewhere I can get it without an internet connection for those nasty occasional network failures.

Like every single app having access to the photos/files so it seems like they are on the internal drive. Dropbox for most apps requires you to download the file do what ever you want to it and re-upload it to dropbox.
Where things like win8 handles it and it seemless and works on any app. Massive bonus.
As these OS intergration expands, dropbox support in apps I'd only going to go one way and that's down.
